Cilka’s Journey is a historical fiction novel. It is the second chapter of The Tattooist of Auschwitz’s novel series. This novel is beautifully written by Heather Morris. She is an Australian writer who is known for writing beautiful historical fiction. The Tattooist of Auschwitz is the first novel of the subject series and this is the one that became the identification of Heather Morris as an author. You will also really love her Three Sisters novel which is genre fiction.

The narration of Cilka’s Journey is done by Louise Brealey. Just the name of this narrator stamps quality on any audiobook that she has narrated. You will find her performance and voice to be pitch-perfect that suited well with all the characters of this novel. She made the characters of this book sound larger than life.
Cilka was only 16 years of age when she was taken for the first time to the concentration camps in Auschwitz-Birkenau. It was the year 1942 and the time when the commander there was quick to notice that how pretty Cilka was. She was forced to be separated from other women kept as prisoners there.
Cilka was quick to learn the fact that power is equal to survival. When the war was finished and the concentration camp got liberated, freedom didn’t come to Cilka at all. She was charged for sleeping with the enemy and was subsequently sent to the prison camp in Siberia. But, did she had any choice there? There were some new and horrible challenges waiting ahead for Cilka there.
