The traveling for the first time was done for an exploratory purpose among the stars. The author calls it a step towards the future after which we will know more about the stars and also other species if they exist somewhere in the galaxy. This book is closely linked to Cosmos and there is a touch of The Demon-Haunted World too. But on the whole, it is more of a predicting book; the author does not give any background which he has already given in the previous books. It is on those old pillars that Carl Sagan builds this new building of future predictions.
The book starts in story form but towards the middle, all Laurel Lefkoe narrates is theories based on different thoughts of the author. If a person is in for a story then he will get disappointed but if you like predictions and a journey in the cosmos then this book can listen again and again. The rhythm never breaks in any of the chapters; the book is narrated like a flowing stream for sure.
