Dirty Deeds (Get Dirty #3)

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Shane is in charge of security at the club where Maggie works. Maggie is sweet, sexy and a little nerdy and Shane finds her irresistible. Shane is a rough, bad boy and the star of all her fantasies, not that they would ever come true. Maggie is a good girl, not the type Shane would ever consider. Obviously Shane hides his feelings well. Shane believes he is not good enough for Maggie, so there\’s that. After an unexpected incident, Shane finds himself alone with Maggie at her apartment….playing with fire. Well more like a spark. Maggie is more that what she portrays herself to be. It\’s something she can\’t disclose at this point in time, so no, they will never be playing with fire. Not possible with the \’out of his league\’ thing and the non disclosure. Just when things begin to settle, Maggie gets herself into a predicament and needs to disappear. Her only hope is Shane. That\’s when he decides to come clean about who he really is. WOW, I TOTALLY DID NOT SEE THAT COMING ! AWESOME STORYLINE WITH LOTS OF TWISTS AND TURNS ! INSANE, INTENSE CRAVING WITH RAW, ALL CONSUMING PASSION ! ! ! DIRTY, NASTY, BREAK THE BED, RIP THE SHEETS SEX ! ! ! THIS STORY IS AMAZING FROM BEGINNING TO END AND IT WILL DEFINITELY KEEP YOUR INTEREST !

Although the author worked hard to spice it up, there was something lacking in the hot department. Also, since I really like audible books because I have been told that I am not supposed to read while driving, the narrators/narration style really affects me. I am not a fan of the he/she narration genre. It screws with the characterizations. Why not have the guy be the guy and the girl be the girl throughout? Just because the POV changes from chapter to chapter, do the actual speaking voices have to? I must say, as well, that neither of these narrators were very engaging. Especially the girl narrator, who had a very noticeable habit of a weird, breathy rolled-r finish to any word ending in a t, d, or any other hard sound. Distracting. Her way of pedantically slogging through each sentence with the first half in an up tone and the second half in a down tone was also annoying. No dramatic style. No nuance. Very little personality to the speaking voice, either. Sorry to sound so dissy, but I am not inclined to read or (especially) listen to any other books in this series.

The main characters, Shane and Maggie/Meghan, appear to be opposites (bad boy v. good girl) who are attracted to each other. They do not act on that attraction because : 1. Each feels the other is out of his/her league and 2. Their employer forbids fraternization. But, when Maggie witnesses a violent crime, Shane kidnaps her to keep her safe. As they run from danger, they learn to trust and support each other and see that they are more alike than they thought. The plot is not totally believable, but it keeps the action moving. The H and h are very likeable — human, with imperfections, but determined to help each other survive. Working together, they go from longing to lust to love, get rid of the bad bad guys, make peace with the good bad guys, and get their HEA with just a bit of bloodshed. There is humor, mayhem, suspense, and lots of hot sex. All the bases are covered. The writing is crisp, clear and good, without the spelling, grammar, or syntax issues that drag down so many other authors these days. It\’s a fun read, not deep or dramatic, but definitely entertaining and well worth your attention. Cat H.

We originally met Maggie in Dirty Laundry as she works at the same gossip magazine with Elise. Her latest assignment has her working undercover as a waitress at a strip club to collect the direct on celebrities. She is friends with everyone but her feelings for Shane are far from friendly. Shane is a security guard at the club and he has had his eye on her for months but knows that it can go no further as the no dating policy would put an end to both their jobs. He is very protective of her and considers himself her personal bodyguard so when a customer becomes aggressive he steps in and rescues her which only brings them closer. When she witnesses something she shouldnt she goes to Shane and he will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe but will the secrets they hold bring them closer or tear them apart? I am loving this series and this story is no exception. The combination of suspense, drama, twists and red hot chemistry make this a story you wont be able to put down.

The third book in the Get Dirty Series first word that come to mind is Amazing!! I could not put down the fast-moving sexy thrill ride of a tale! The story catapults you into a world of deceit, secrets, dangerous criminal ties, and how far one\’s devotion will go to protect another! \” From your lips to the universes ears.\” Maggie and Shane- the good girl and the bad boy. These two seemingly opposites are bound together by more than just attraction. Shane will do whatever it takes to protect her from the threats that are coming at Maggie, can he defend her and himself while maintaining his secrets? So much love for this story, the characters seemed to leap off the pages! Humorous, with so much sexiness going on! *Phew* the suspense building aspect, with details that are all put into play for a reason, this plot twisted romance was a spectacularly delicious literary mini vacation- I am so glad I went on!
