like all of the other RH books they keep you glued tp the book. Hard to put down. If you like hack and slash, gore and
adventure you got it. Tho the characters are not real (WHO KNOWS) there are some great history lessons in the story
line. Angus did a great job or researching these books. Read them in order. They continue in line.

Obviously Robin Hood is a frequent subject of historical novels. I found this series to be a fresh take on the Robin Hood story and primary characters. The book series reminds me of Bernard Cornwell in terms of action and attention to historical context.

Review #3

Audiobook King’s Man (The Outlaw Chronicles #3) by Angus Donald

There are quite enough 5 star reviews that explain the plot of this book so I will stick to impressions of the whole experience.
The Outlaw novel started this series with a rivetting tale that introduced a version of Robin Hood that is tough, ruthless and cynically cruel to his enemies, yet fiercely loyal, kind and totally protective of his family and inner circle. The book was tightly plotted, well characterised and full of action. The sequels, including this one, follow faithfully, and superbly, in the same vein.
If you enjoyed the Sharp (Bernard Cornwall) series, or are any sort of fan of military history fiction, then wait no longer, buy, read & enjoy!
I intend to read anything that this author puts out.

Review #4

Audio King’s Man (The Outlaw Chronicles #3) narrated by Mike Rogers

King’s Man by Angus Donald was a great read, as were the first two books in the series. Donald is a gifted storyteller who has honed his writing skills to a fine steel. The way he has interwoven the stories of Alan Dale, Robin Hood and King Richard the Lionheart is masterful. Readers of Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon series will like these books. I can’t wait to read Donald’s next one.

Angus McDonald introduces us to the “real” or historical Robin Hood like Bernard Cornwell introduced us to the historical
King Arthur, a man of flaws, most of them quite deep, and violence yet somehow like his knights of the round table
and Robin’s outlaws in Sherwood we grow to like his characters despite his graphic fits of vioience and complete disregard
for all but his “family”. The King’s Man is the third installment and it’s just as good as the first two and I would suggest it
although I won’t have to because after reading the first one you’ll be sucked in for the duration.
