There was a lot of angst in this on the way to getting Tohrment to let go of Wellsie. Apparently she and their baby were stuck in the in between and slowly moving further away until they disappeared forever. They would never make it to the Fade unless Tohrment lets them go, and gets over his grief.

He begins to feel attracted to NoOne who is the mother of Xhex and was the young girl that he and Darius rescued when he was young. She had been taken hostage by a Sympath and raped and when they rescued her, she wouldnt allow them to return her to her family with the glymera to be shunned. She knew she was pregnant, so Darius and Tohrment took care of her until she gave birth and right afterward she stole Tohrs knife and killed herself.

She was brought back as a Chosen, but has always seen herself as a servant, so she called herself NoOne and served the Chosen. Recently she has been living in the mansion to get to know Xhex, but since Xhex has been busy, she has been doing laundry in the mansion and has been seeing Tohrment more and more.

Talk about angst, there couldnt be more between Quinn and Blaylock. They are continuing to pine after each other. Blay still is with Quinns cousin and Quinn does his best not to picture the two males together. <spoiler>Quinn serviced his good friend Layla the Chosen when she went into her needing, so she just might be preggers with his baby.</spoiler> Layla is now staying with Quinn but she fed Xcor and she has a crush on him. He cant stop thinking about her either. Sounds like a recipe for disaster or a crazy mixed family.

One thing I can say about these books is they are never ever boring. I cant wait to see what happens next.

Lover Reborn audiobook in series The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series

Man, oh man, how I wanted to give this more. Heck, how I wanted to like this more. I love John. I love Tohr. I love Wrath and all the other guys. But Tohr and Autumn, I just couldn’t get into it. I didn’t like him loosing Wellsie but I could see how it would bring a new dynamic and I liked how it developed John’s story. I liked the angel and Tohr on his own wasn’t so bad but the relationship….I just couldn’t get into it. They were very muted and lost a bit in the story of everything else going on and it just didn’t fit. Also, and I could be wrong here, but I don’t think time wise it’s been all that long since Wellsie died. I would think, given how devoted in the mating and in love the guys get to their shellans and the fact that they live a good 1000 years or so, he’d need a good 50 or so years before looking at another mate. I mean, he was with Wellsie for what, 150 years??? (something like that) I actually was really hoping that at the end, he would do the Fade ceremony and then stay single. I think Tohr on his own would have been great, and Autumn coming to really accepting herself and loving herself and being on her own would have been great too. Together, not so much for me.

I did like Wrath getting shot, lol. Not that I don’t like Wrath, but I thought it was a nice twist.

I did not like Qhuinn going out alone. No way do I see John not going out with him and I’m not sure Qhuinn would do it anyway(as in leave John). I think this was a problem with character and the fight itself. If someone was going to make that move it would have been V with the other two aiding inside. V would have been a surer bet but then Xcor would be dead and there goes your enemy too soon. I think it was just bad fighting choreograph at play. I’m not saying Qhuinn shouldn’t be a hero and save the kings’ life and all, its just the way it happened that was very off putting. Okay, and maybe I do find it a little early for Qhuinn to be toting a hero mantle. Also, changing the laws to get Qhuinn into the brotherhood when John, who has the blood in his veins like Butch but hasn’t been inducted, is just screwy, and Qhuinn is one of my favorite characters.

I didn’t like John’s character this book. Maybe that’s just me. He’s also one of my favs but this book, I found the whole fighting between him and Xhex way out there. John knew who he was mating. I don’t see him reacting this way. I also found her reaction a bit over the top as well and really, they already more or less had this in John’s book. This felt like a way to create some added tension and maybe try to continue the thread of John’s story since it’s been going on since book 2 (or 1 if you want to get technical) and with it being Tohr’s…..I don’t know. It was just messy and unbelievable to the characters I have been reading over the years.

I can’t really recommend this one. I can see that Ward is trying to do some serious weaving of plots and things but I’m just not…it’s not there for me. The characters and stories are off, the plot lines are continuing to fall apart, as is the once awesome story telling.

Lover Reborn audiobook by J. R. Ward

Lover Reborn is another amazing story in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I seriously can’t get enough of this world. Each and every book is filled with so much depth. There’s love, hope, fighting, and heat this had it all!

Tohrment and No’One coming together was incredible, it was intense and emotional. Their story was filled with a lot of ups and downs, complicated feelings, a lot of heart and healing. I loved them, got frustrated with them, and my heart hurt for them… but I hung on every word. I loved learning their histories, seeing their struggles and battles. I loved Tohrs love for his original female and his devotion to her. I really enjoyed the time frame in which everything took place and thought there was an incredible build.

There are so many other great stories happening as well. The angel Lassiter is one of my new favorite characters and I really hope more is learned about him in future books. I adore the relationship forming between Xhex and No’One, its so sweet. I’m totally digging the building storyline between Quinn and Blay, its amazing to see how much Quinn has changed. I also love everything that’s happening with the Chosen Layla. The Band of Brothers totally intrigues me. I feel like I should think they’re totally villainous but I find them fascinating. I loved getting to see their personalities and getting to know them better.

I really like the overall storyline thats happening in the vampire world. There are just so many great details and things to pay attention to. There’s some action and drama, a whole heck of a lot of emotion, and so many great characters. I cant begin to say enough good things.

Lover Reborn audio narrated by Jim Frangione

I have really loved this series, but I have noticed that as it progresses, newer books focus more on the story around the main characters and less on the developing relationship between the two romantic leads. this is a great book to learn about all the new threads JR Ward is going to pick up, but there just wasn’t enough about Tohr and No’One throughout to really interest me in their characters or romance.
As another reviewer has mentioned, this has the whole ‘dead wife’ syndrome going on – which could have been got round with a bit more emphasis on Tohr’s previous relationship with No’One – and the fact that his marriage was arranged… mind you, that would have tainted what we know about his first marriage to Wellsie.
Yes, I enjoyed it, no I wasn’t all that interested in the extraneous stuff about the other ‘brotherhood’, and while it was nice to catch up on other characters, why oh why did we have to have quite so much about John and Xhex? They’ve had their book – there was TONS of stuff about them – almost as much as there was about Tohr and No’One.

And don’t get me started on the whole name change thing. Talk about lame…

So a bit off course for me. Will I buy the next one? Yes, but if it’s another one like this, then I probably won’t buy any further books in this series.

It took me a while to get into this book but when I started I was pleasantly surprised. I liked Tohr from the first book and I was interested on how his story would go. Jr Ward was able to take your through that journey of loving some one so much and then losing them and trying to move on without feeling guilty or seem as you are cheating on that person in a beautiful way. The twist near the end was heart-wrenching.(It had to be she never writes her stories easy!)
There were several things which confused me a bit;

In this story there is no bonding scent. In books 1-5 it a precursor to true love does this mean that if No’One dies he can move on again?

In previous books we are given the impression that Vampire love is forever so Tohr getting over his wife is troubling. I cannot see Wrath or Rhage loving somebody else if their respective partners dies

How come when Mary,No’One and Jane died they came back to life (except Jane don’t get me started on that) Why couldn’t Wellsie come back too?

The only part that made me annoyed was John Matthew and Xhex’s story. The trouble with young love!
The only person who I really liked was Lassiter. He made me laugh out loud!
As usual there were several sub plots which will make me reach for the next book in the series.
