Lucky\’s Choice audiobook free

So I had to really think about this review. In the end I am giving it 3 and 1/2 stars.

Man did I LOVE this book in the beginning. I really did. I loved the fact that Lucky needed to prove that he really did love Willa… all the crap he put her through. The book started out with great potential for an epic “forgive me for I have sinned” romance but then…. bam. Nope.

Don’t get me wrong, I really did enjoy the book. But I Loathed the fact that Willa was the biggest push over and that she almost died Lucky finally wanted to be with her. Then it just skipped to 3 month later. The thing is, Lucky never atoned for the way he treated her or anything. It was just wham bam, thank you ma’am, you’re mine.

Maybe it was Willa’s pushover attitude, I don’t know, but that just didn’t sit right with me.

And Spoiler… Why in the world would you introduce a dog ONLY to kill it 3 pages later? What the hell was that? There was ZERO need for that.

But the book was okay. I’m no denying that. I just feel like it could have been so much better.

Lucky\’s Choice audiobook in series Last Riders

There are so many things that I like about this book and series it’s hard to give it justice in a coup,e of paragraphs. Each book in the Last RIder series is a stand alone about a separate couple (Except Shade’s Fall and Shade deals with same) Jamie Begley shows us once again why she has so many fans and why with her you should always expect the unexpected. Her books keep getting better and better as do seeing the other couples from previous books. Lucky (aka Pastor Dean) and Willa story has been long awaited by her fans– everyone wanted this couple to get their HEA. And they got one with a beautiful and moving story along the way. There is lots of humor between Lucky and Shade and we finally meet WIlla and she is a hoot (love love that she mumbles what she really feels). There is lots of hot scenes, some surprises, lots of action and we get to see more of the LR.

Spoilers ahead— WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

I loved how conflicted Lucky was. Can he be a Last Rider and a good man. Can he follow his calling in the pulpit and be a Last Rider? A lot of the book was spent exploring these sentiments and the resolution was unexpected but so so good!!! One thing I love about Jamie Begley’s books is that she makes her characters real. There is doubt, her characters are flawed but at the end of the day they learn and grow and show us insight into what draws the original Last Rider men together. Never in 100 years could I have predicted that LUcky could have both WIlla/Last Riders and fulfill his calling. Willa surprised me- discovering who she was and how she became into her grove was wonderful. The writing and rewriting of her will (you will have to read the book to find out!) is some of the funniest scenes written.

You do not want to miss this book!!!

Audiobook Lucky\’s Choice by Jamie Begley

4.5 stars – I just want to start with a huge sigh of relief. Willa got her man! Thank you JB for pairing Lucky with Willa. I have had ups and downs with the Last Riders books but I have to say I think Lucky and Willa are my favorite.

So let me get this out of the way first. Yes Lucky is a huge d****ead, as with all The Last Riders he takes forever to get his head out of his a**. There is a lot of push and pull in the beginning. I could have done without all the descriptive scenes of him screwing other women. If you are a fan of this series this isnt surprising but I would have preferred a more fade to black approach in this area. Yes Willa comes across as a bit weak but she does find her backbone, and in a lot of ways she doesnt change who she is and I liked that.

Lucky is at war with himself. He is dealing with what he sees as failings as a man. He is at war with himself, his feelings for Willa, his time in the service, and most of all his service to God. His fear of a past deed coming back to destroy him cripples him to the point he cant let Willa in. Yes it took something drastic for Lucky to finally make a choice but honestly he was fighting a war he was never going to win. I liked the direction JB took with bringing Lucky and Willa together. I loved his courtship of her and his care with her once he made his choice.

Willa is dealing with her own war. Her struggle to take care of the foster kids she took in, her insecurities, her feelings for Lucky, and her mothers voice in her head. I liked the growth in Willa. While I wouldnt have taken the harsh words people like Sissy (that freaking brat) threw at her, Willa came into her own, in HER way. I loved that she found her place with The Last Riders and her voice. Along the way there were quite a few LOL moments involved. Willa stayed pretty true to who she was. I agree with the Last Riders assessments that her beliefs were a bit archaic but they made her happy. She found a way to still do some of those things but also welcomed new things into her life despite her mothers voice.

I also loved how Bliss was handled. Now I have never been a Bliss hater but I liked the direction her story took. Her actions have never been much different than the mens, she has lots of sex, gets jealous, falls in love, and acts out. I dont agree with how she reacts and how she hurts people but I understand her a bit more. I think her love for Shade like a lot of people in love made her do stupid things. If you read the end of Shades Fall you know how she ends up and I am kind of hoping we get a story to show her HEA.

The epilogues were fantastic I always love getting a glimpse into the future. I adored Rider in this book the way he treated Willa was adorable. But I will end with Shade and Lucky, I enjoyed them so much. The constant fighting, Shade antagonizing Lucky, food fights, and Shades loyalty it was fantastic. I think they had some of the best scenes in the book. Well done JB cant wait for the next book.

Audio Lucky\’s Choice narrated by Elizabeth Hart

Seriously all that teasing and talk about how he likes to ‘play’ with his blades and knives during sex but it’s never really actually describes, except for a couple of little things. Annoying. The book was alright, I liked the quirky little things with Willa’s personality, like the talking to herself and the only buying things on sale etc because that’s exactly what I do and also Lucky’s PTSD. I also liked the interaction between the biker guys. I still have a problem with this authors writing. Not just because there are issues with grammar, spelling, mixed up words, missing words etc but also because the writing is just bland, it doesn’t pull me in and it doesn’t excite. Its also as if it was reanslated to Engkish from another language. I’ve read much better, more exciting and more heated biker books than this. I hated the pirate sex scene, it was so silly that it made me cringe. I gave 3 stars because I liked Willa and the emotions raised but maybe a half a star to generous.

Escape into my Reads Book Blog

Once Lucky stepped into his leathers I was no longer a fan of his and his antics in Cashs Fight had me cringing as he made up for lost time by filling his quota of sluts. The scenes with Lucky carrying out his man whore ways had me skipping parts fast, but as soon as Willa stepped onto the scene my reading slowed and I relished each page as her addictive personality took hold and had me jumping for joy, finally seeing a strong female putting a Last Rider in his place as Lucky got swamped with fits of jealousy and his competitive streak had his brothers playing with his emotions. I didnt love Luckys Choice but I definitely loved so many favourite scenes, the story was abundant with one liners by Shade your welcome and Rider watch the food had me in stitches and I felt that warm giddiness when you find a book full of treats. The interaction with so many characters made Luckys Choice really stand out from its predecessor books.

Reaching half way point Lucky began to thaw my heart and he completely owned it with his need to protect and put Willa at ease with her weight issues. Lucky was so thoughtful, romantic and became a pillar of confidence to Willa whilst at the same time he kept her away from his own struggles. Willa for me was so dope and broke all the misconceptions by those who saw her character as weak and unworthy of Lucky. To me they were perfect together and Willas relationship with Lucky was so beautiful, full of respect, strength, compromise and love as she worked on helping Lucky find peace in his life choices.

This book made me fall more in love with Shade, King, Killyama and I suffered Sudden Train Syndrome right alongside her, she is my favourite female lead as she knows how to kick ass. Dustin was full of surprises, Moon was a hit and I connected more to his character then Crash or Nickel (only because I feel we haven’t had enough interaction with these two guys yet than we did with Moon) so I would absolutely love to read a novella on him and learn a bit more on the other Treepoint/Ohio members. The snippet of heat caught between Calder and Crazy Bitch was hot like fire and I am super excited when their story comes out.

Rider for me has never been a favourite and being with Bliss made me dislike him even more, but this book made me absolutely fall in love with the cocky and sweet Last Rider. I cant wait to see him in dom role and pray that he is still paired up with Jo as she seems to wipe the cockiness right out of him and make him chase.

The best highlight of the book hands down was hearing Bliss being outed out of the club after the nasty and malicious remarks she made towards Willa. Ive hated her character since Razers Ride and the last two books really showed how possessive she was over Shade and being outed instead of a beat down was the next best thing for us fans wanting retribution for every time she hurt the women with bitchy remarks, flaunted her nasty daisy chain in front of them or flirted with their husbands. We know she will find a man who is crazy enough to love her even though she doesnt deserve a hea with Drake ugh for being so fake with the wives and her lose term of friendship

Now I am beyond excited to hear Tates book will be the first in the Porter series because I absolutely love the Porter men hard. The excitement is endless as Jackal and Pennie will be the next Predator book and the most anticipated Last Rider book for me is Train and my girl Killyama! Hope to see Jo return back to Treepoint in the next book watch out Riders ego!
