Open All the Way

This memoir of a woman opening up her marriage isn’t for everyone. Most of it is written in a light, often humorous style, easy to read. What I especially liked is the author was very frank about her own shortcomings and failures, including her battle with booze. She didn’t try to portray herself as an angel, but as a very human woman who was never cut out for monogamy, and decided not to pretend she was. The last section is VERY sexy, but most of it is about the emotions, not the genitals.

Great Book. I felt like Sadie was sitting in my house telling me about her life and giving me a deep introspective look into that life over a cup of coffee like old friends. I wish my wife and I had read this 32 years ago along with the book and classes we had to take before we could get married. We didnt, nor do we, have an open marriage but we could have used some of the insight Sadie shares into feelings between two people in a lifelong relationship

I really enjoyed this book. Sadie’s openess and honesty was very refreshing. As a recovering alcoholic, I can really appreciate her views on what role and importance sobriety takes on a life. I would really like to read more of her work.

At the cutting edge of human sexuality developement for the open minded, Sadie Smythe’s book will keep you riveted as she bares her heart writing of both her strengths and weaknesses as well as for her lifestyle. Sexy, sensual real life stories along with her philosophy of life are all told in a very readable
way. Even if you are not interested in doing so yourself, this book should be a help to understand those who do.

I feel like she wrote my stories…I’ve had some wild meet ups in our open marriage and always felt alone. I felt like I wasn’t alone finally! From flings, to having a long term relationship, to dealing with being happy with my husband when he felt the same…all of her experiences were so helpful in my journey. Thank you Sadie! My long term lover and I always meet in Austin. I’d like to think you’d be proud of us.
*after writing this review, I went to her website where I see she’s split with her husband. Now I feel somewhat betrayed and angry. I know no one is perfect but truthfully, I’m angry.
