I really liked In Darkness. I’m a pretty picky reader, but I enjoy YA books when I want a fast read but a good story. This book hits just the right balance of a fast book that’s fun to read.

I really enjoyed the imagery. It wasn’t overused, but it still had a great depth to it. The story really is something special. I hope this catches on so a movie happens. It has all the makings of a pop culture hit without all of the eye-rolling stereotypes that are so prevalent in the genre. It also spends just the right amount of time recapping book one instead of tossing in awkwardly placed sentences throughout the book that are meant to remind you of what happened. It’s pretty seamless in that way.

Poet Anderson is a Dreamwalker… that is, he’s a guy who lives in the waking world and the Dream World. It incorporates lucid dreaming, which is a plot device I haven’t seen before. Poet has a lot of guilt and pain from something pretty awful that happened in the past, and he might be able to correct the error in the world of dreams. There are villains there, and they are genuinely a little scary. Not terrifying, not something you’d have nightmares over, but something you might think about a little before you fall asleep and be grateful they exist only in a well written and executed book.

I recommend this for people who enjoy a good mix of sci-fi/fantasy that’s a little on the dark side in the same way that the last few Harry Potter books were dark It’s not TOO dark, it’s not too light. It really is just right.

Diving deeper into the dream world, this Poet Anderson sequal sheds light on more beauty hidden …In Darkness of this beautifully created multi reality world.
The story never stops, at least not long enough for you to resolve your shock from the last scene. Was very hard to put down and made you want to jump into the world itself.
If you fear that this will not amount to the first book you should ease your mind and tunnel yourself into this sequel.

Audiobook Poet Anderson …In Darkness by Tom DeLonge

Delonge and Young have done an amazing job building the universe they created originally with …Of Nightmares. Pushing the boundaries of Poet’s abilities and his character development to dark places, the book lives up to its title …In Darkness.

Great book! Only negative was the packaging… Bent and marred the dust cover, not something I really expect for a new item.
