Ronin (Rebel Stars #3)

When I first chose to read this series, I had no idea there was a continuation going on from the Breaker books. I just knew they were written by a very good storyteller. Lucky me! This book has been the best in the series so far. A few of the older issues get hashed out in the storyline and leads to some new and exciting issues brought into the light! Of course I will not spoil any discoveries you\’re going to make on your own when you read it. That would be Lurcker evil! If you enjoyed the first books in this series, this one will not disappoint you. Edward Robertson continues to shine in his pacing and storyline. Believe it or not, the characters\’ development fleshes out even more. I can\’t really get specific without giving away some of the plot though. The only unfortunate occurrence is that now I\’m ready to read the next book and it\’s yet to be published! From what I understand, actually they\’ll be two more books after this one…agh! I wouldn\’t wait though. I\’d still read all his work as each was published. You won\’t be disappointed with this choice either. Happy reading!

I discovered this series in a collection of space operas and discovered that there was a post apocalyptic series set in the same universe prior to this series. Since I enjoyed the first book of this series the Breaker series seemed like a no-brainer even though I normally stick with space based series. I loved that series, and the tie-ins made here are great. Famous characters in the old series fit perfectly into the history here. I actually got a laugh when they referred to some of the characters from the Breakers series, and it makes this series feel more real with such a rich history behind it. I strongly recommend this series and if you have not read it the Breakers series too!

I love everything I have ready by Robertson. I enjoyed the occasional references to the original series involving Swimmers, Lawton, etc, centuries in the past. My main complaint about this installation involves a plot point that I don\’t want to spoil for readers. But when you read it (you should!) you will find a major character was shuffled aside for too long.

I am enjoying this series, I have already finished the Breakers series. I think this is a good spin off. I look forward to the rest of this series and what ever else I read from Edward W Robertson. I\’m sure I will be reading more.

This author gets it. Not only fresh and innovative, the action never stops and its so REAL. Characters leap off the page like your best friends. You KNOW them. I like this guy and his writing. Mucho goodo. Read it.
