The Greatest Games

I buy this as a stocking filler for my husband as he is a big Liverpool fan I must admit he doesnt really read books apart from when he is lying on a beach but he started reading this book on Boxing Day and it was finished in two days.
The only problem is that he then tells me all the stories from this book and not being into football .

Excellent book. Very informative and makes you think about football in far greater detail. Carraghers love of the game shines through and his tactical analysis of each of these games is superb. Inputs from Neville, Collymore, Barnes, etc are also great. Any football lover would enjoy this.

I’m a big Liverpool & Carra fan but really struggled to follow this book. I appreciate that the focus was on a balanced assessment on great games but the chapters followed no real pattern & within the chapters themselves the content ping ponged about. Half the book is padded with boring facts & commentary that made it a real drag. I read the whole book in the same way you would watch a mediocre film but force yourself not to walk out just because you paid for it. I am slightly miffed at the overwhelming positive reviews on here and ironically purchased this based on the majority opinion.

Great book however its a shame the courier couldnt follow the delivery instructions and ended up leaving it on a step outside the front of my house ……
