This curse or strange power has not helped her in any matter because her boss has kept her in a cage since the day her powers were revealed.

One day in the absence of her master she escapes the dungeons and comes into the open world which she sees for the first time. Having no other place to go she comes directly to Simon who is a Shape-shifter. Simon wanted a human as a Liaison and is astonished that the girl shows her readiness for the job. The Shape-shifter’s mind becomes loaded with doubts about the girl. He feels that the girl is not a normal or ordinary human being and there are secrets in her heart which she does not want to tell.
Anne Bishop the writer of this novel puts Meg on the borderline between the humans and the Others. Whichever side she would take will win the war because she can tell every move of the enemy before it had happened. Alexandra Harris is not new to this form but she struggled in some chapters. Wild Country and Vision in Silver are narrated in a lot better accent as compared to this because Alexandra finally got hold of the themes in those books. The book cannot be categorized as a horror book but it can give you scary nightmares if you have a weak heart.
