It may have taken some self-convincing before I bought the first book in the series and read beyond the free kindle sample, but boy am I glad I did. Winter has earned a spot on my favorite characters list, and kicks ass along with great side-characters and memorable villains. I loved the gritty, past-paced action, the un-saccharine romance, and the whiplash plot twists. Awesome series, and I’m excited for more. While the only downturn is the shift of focus to a new main character (I need more Winter/Julian action!!!), I’ll most certainly love her (Scarlet Jones) as well.

PS I’ll sell my soul (and ovaries) for a short-story (or long-story–I’ll take anything) about Winter and Julian’s relationship. I need more of those two in my life.

Highly addictive. Kept me up all night long. Kept me distracted. Winter’s father who knew he would cause her question herself and those around her.

Audiobook Bone Fairy by D.N. Hoxa

I truly enjoyed this series it had a bit of everything humor, intrigue and suspense. The characters were easy to get involved in and the twists and turns were many. A very enjoyable read from the first book to the sixth.

Bone Fairy was worth the wait! D.N. Hoxa left us with an epic cliffhanger at the end of Bone Prison, and she resolved it in Bone Fairy.

We’ve followed Winter Wayne through 5 adventures, and watched her grow and evolve in each one. In Bone Prison, she was living with consequences of her choices and actions, but the impact of her choices wasn’t completely revealed until Bone Fairy.

Now instead of dealing with the consequences directly, she has to face the person she’s become. While she thinks she owns her own choices, Winter has realized how far she’s drifted from who she set out to be. The old adage, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” comes to mind as we follow Winter on her quest to prevent a civil war in Fairy, save Julian and his family from Regnicide and attempt to get a fair trial on Earth from ECU. You know, just a walk in the park.

As Winter finally begins to see she can’t believe her father into loving her and how much she’s changed, we finally start to see the strong woman she was always meant to be.

Once again, I don’t want to give anything away, but Hoxa has once again spun an exciting tale, full of more twists and turns than a roller coaster. This is a MUST for your To Be Read list!
