This installment starts out immediately after the events of the first book, a battle aftermath. It sets the stage as a reminder that this book will be a little more intense than the first. Not a lot. Its 35% pun after all. But a little more intense. For the most part, I was 100% in. Its still fun as all get out, sexy times to beat all sexy times (seriously. Whoa), and an actual story on top of it. There was less overall satire of the community and more references to the wriers books. Theres nothing wrong with that per se, it just made the story a little less magical and a little more promotional. Which makes sense completely, I just found myself a little disappointed by it. The plumbing puns were down, but still there; however, you dont feel their lack because the acronym puns more than take their place. This series wouldnt be the same without puns, after all. Well done: Family dynamics – you start to understand whats going on a little bit more. Not a whole lot, but some of the animosity is resolved and their group gets a little more cohesive. The way Warden was handled was my favorite part I think. Both characters accepted their mistakes and had some seriously believable fights before the inevitable make-up. Aris heartbreaking pain was almost a living thing and I felt as sad as she did, good job writers. Good freaking job. Less well done: I know the ending was to get us interested in the next book, but there didnt seem any basis for it. To be fair, that statement may be retracted when the next book proves me wrong. There was a betrayal I did NOT see coming and didnt buy (partially because the MC didnt buy it), and the plot point seemed to be added to assuage some moral dilemmas and a little deus ex machina thrown in for good measure. But Im withholding true judgement until the last book. I trust these authors and Im sure theyve thought of answers to these things or are laughing because thats exactly how they want us to feel. Conclusion: One of my favorite sexy times books, a story and emotional support that makes it worth re-reading and not just bookmarking certain (ahem) scenes. Definitely looking forward to the ending and how everything is resolved.

I loved Elements of Ruin. I\’ve been looking forward to reading this book since Elements of Mischief came out. And this book didn\’t disappoint at all. Where to start? I love Tate and I love CM. Their work is yet again, top notch. This book is FUNNY. And there\’s lots of sexy times in this book and it\’s great! I loved getting to know the newest husband and frankly, I\’m quite jelly that Ari gets 6 husbands! This book is fast paced, there\’s always something happening. And don\’t believe what everyone says. There is no cliffhanger. If you think there is, I\’d love to talk to you about it. I seriously can\’t believe that we have to wait like two months for the last book to come out! Maybe I can help \”convince\” Tate and CM to release it early? This is such a fun series to read and laugh at and with. I would recommend everyone buy it!

Audiobook Elements of Ruin (Hijinks Harem #2) by C.M. Stunich Tate James
Wowzers. An amazing sequel to Elements of Mischief (If you haven\’t read that, go read it first! You\’ll be so confused!) by CM Stunich and Tate James. I was a big fan of the first book and the fact that it didn\’t take itself too seriously, yet there was an engaging plot and a cast of lovable (if, in some cases, infuriating) characters. This book doesn\’t disappoint; in fact, it surpasses the first one in my opinion. Not an easy feat for a 2nd book. Ari and her boys are back with an interesting addition who definitely adds that uh.. ginger spice… sorry, I couldn\’t help it. Along with them is Boy-hungry Brit, the crazy family, the snarky inner voice/demon that we love, and many more. If you like laugh out loud moments that are paired with steamy sexy times (there IS some MM in this book – if you\’re not a fan, skim it), and an ending that leaves you gasping, panting, and crying for more… (grr…. cliffhangers!) get this book. You won\’t regret it.

Audio Elements of Ruin (Hijinks Harem #2) narrated by Bridie Lawrence
This book was an absolutely amazing fun and sexy read! If you are looking for a reverse harem with plenty of steam and don\’t mind guy action as well then give this book a go. This book had me going the whole way with all the comedy, romance, and action. This book had me laughing one minute then had me wondering what would happen the next and then had me loving all the steamy action. I ended not being able to help myself in telling others about the book because this book just had me so happy that I had picked up and started reading again after being in a bit of a reading slump. This book has plenty of steamy scenes so I would recommend this to people 18 and up only. Be advised that Arizona, the main character does have a fiery side that does involve quite a foul mouth but it is so worth it.

This book had me alternating between laughing and fanning myself which was just great. Either way i was unable to put the thing down until I hit the last page which of course leaves of hanging. I swear if I didn\’t love Tate\’s books so much I would hate her instead but that is impossible with writing this good. Bad puns aside this book was just awesome as the group dealt with attacks, family drama (Ari standing up for herself was awesome), and faulty magic that all came together to create an incredible story that I was sad to have come to an end. If you enjoy funny paranormal RH novels then you so have to read this book/series. I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
