This is the fourth book in the Lilah Love series and it contains the conclusion to the case that began being investigated in the last book. This story opens with a bang, literally, the night a muddled mess, FBI Agent Lilah Love in a dark alleyway with raining pounding from above, nature mirroring the calamity a psychotic man created. There are too many suspects in this case, multiple victims or perhaps villains in front of her, a bodyguard who doesnt get it and to top it all off a surprise visit from an enemy who has been an ally and yet the serial killer she expected is not to be found after having laid clever booby traps. She should have known this was a test of her worthiness. It wouldve been too easy and too soon in the gameplay if this night had been the showdown between her and the Umbrella Man. Diversions abound, sorting out the breadcrumbs between primary/secondary victims time-consuming, the possibility of the killer having support staff too evident to ignore. With each crime scene, the case becomes more convoluted, the complicated game being played by an intelligent madman escalating. Lilahs aggravation steadily increases from the multiple inputs thrown at her by the serial killer, law enforcement, personnel incompetence, and the arrogance of the mentor she has to wade through. Everyone has their own agenda be they friend or foe. There will be more deaths to come, some close to home before this is over. Umbrella Man is doing an excellent job of making Lilah extremely angry and that is to his detriment, experience has made her a killer with a badge, one who walks her own path with a dangerous man at her side, the son of a drug lord who at times leads two lives and the only one who understands and accepts who she is. All roads lead to Lilah Love, shes the catalyst, the clues when found, obvious in their connection. Who wants to remove her playing piece from the board? Who benefits if she were gone? The answer to that question illustrates just how deep the tendrils of the conspiracy that wont quit go, they underestimated her once and shes more than ready for them now. Umbrella Man beware, Lilah wont blink, she wont feel remorse when she takes out the evil darkness that he is. What is so interesting about the Lilah character is that for her vulnerability is a strength, she faces down weakness and grows from what she learns and accepts about herself including the contradictions. Shes as real as a person can be and even those that walk in darkness can have a moral code. And with Kane by her side, shell handle whats inevitably coming for them. An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

Love Kills (Lilah Love #4) audiobook in series Lilah Love
Lilah Love is one tough FBI Agent. She is fearless! This love story mystery is very entertaining. Lisa knows how to entertain her mystery loving readers. Not once did I want to go to the end of the book to see how the story ended. Religiously I read and when a writer can portray a story that lets you feel like you are RIGHT THERE, then I call that writer Great! All the books in this series were mind engaging. I know there is another story out there but for now I guess I will be patient and wait and see. Read all the books in this series. You will laugh, feel empowered by Lilah\’s grounding strength and feel her love for Mr. Mendez. I find that every review on Amazon starts with USA Bestselling author writer but in this case Lisa is truly deserving of this title.

Audiobook Love Kills (Lilah Love #4) by Lisa Renee Jones LR Jones
Love Kills begins with Lilah Love embroiled at a chaotic murder scene. There are two dead bodies in the alley and one to be found later in Lilahs building . There are at least three killers (including Lilah) on site in the alley. Several law enforcement officers are patrolling the scene none of them eager to work with Lilah, who constantly reminds them that she is the Agent-In-Charge. She doesnt trust any of them and is increasingly forced to rely on Kane s resources for protection. Reading those first few pages left me, the reader, a nervous wreck. My response was Lilah needs to calm the hell down. She even has Kane acting hyper. (Hows that for reader engagement.) Three quarters of the way through the book, I realize that the mystery is secondary to the romance angle. Lilah mentally examines the same suspect pool over and over. The Society with all its tentacles is the main suspect. Then theres the Umbrella Man. The hired killer Ghost ranks third. Then there are minor suspects such as Lilahs former mentor whose skills she respects but whose presence she doesnt trust. Come to think of it, she doesnt trust most of the people in her circle of law enforcement officials. A stronger storyline follows the relationship between Kane and Lilah. As always, Lilah is conflicted by her love for a man who is deeply involved (as he later admits) in criminal activities. Further she recognizes that her acceptance of that criminality defines the type of person she is, which is magnified by her role as a Special Agent for the FBI. This defines the chaos she constantly projects. The storyline picks up in the last quarter of the book. Some of the killer candidates come into clearer focus, while others fade into the background. The suspense ending is somewhat surprising but the romance is to be expected. I rate this book a 5, basically because it was a page-turner through and through.

Love Kills the fourth book in Lisa Renee Jones Lilah Love series and the finale to the story started in Love Me Dead was an intriguing, interesting, and suspenseful story. That was filled with twists and turns and at times it truly had me scratching my head. As the hunt for Umbrella Man kicked up a gear, and Lilah\’s determination for answers meant the dead bodies started to pile up, and the number of people she could truly trust shrank. Yet, I must say I did find it a little difficult to get into, only because I couldn\’t really remember all the details from Love Me Dead and even though there is a brief catch up at the start you are thrown right back into the middle of the action and plot, and it\’s a complex plot to say the least. But once I got my head around everything I was hooked and I couldn\’t help but love the bluntness and vulnerability of Lilah and the way she operates is very distinctive and enjoyable to read. As is her complicated relationship with Kane. I also couldn\’t figure out who Umbrella Man was, and I enjoyed all the twists and shocks that lead up to the reveal. And the concluding couple of chapters really did have me on the edge of my seat. So I\’m truly hoping there is more to come from Lilah Love in the future. And I would happily recommend Love Kills and the Lilah Love series as a whole to others.
