The End

Mark continues on with a great series! A reader can pick up any of the books in any order and know what has been going on. Though this is written as a series each book can stand alone. With great characters that a normal person can rally behind. You don’t have to have special knowledge about guns, explosives, scientific jargon, this is a story that revolves around normal every day people trying survive an apocalypse. With so many different Zombie books out there to choose from, this one is refreshingly different from others. I have read many in this genre and this series is my favorite. Nothing against the other authors as there are others I do enjoy, just that Zombie Fallout stands out on top. Mike Talbot, his wife Tracy, his children, BT, Tommy, even the “bad guys” (won’t give away spoilers… you must read the books to find out those answers LOL!) are all very developed.

There are some fun and funny times as well as some serious. Great humor that makes me laugh still no matter how many times I read or listen to the audible book. Check out the audible books as well. Sean Runnette is narrator and he does such a wonderful job!

My oldest daughter is a zombie nut. She has tried for years to get me involved, but I didn’t think I’d enjoy zombie books, since I don’t like zombie movies. I’ve read a couple that I got as a freebie (Bookbub) and although well written, nothing I could get exited over. EXCEPT FOR THIS SERIES! I have read books 1 – 3.5 and have absolutely loved every word!! Mark Tufo has a style of writing that makes it so easy to get into his stories! I know that book #8 is either out now or soon will be and I plan on purchasing books 4 – 8 as soon as possible. However, waiting is hard for these books so I’m re-reading 1 – 3.5 to refresh my mind so I can pick up where I left off when I get the new ones. I know this is a long post, but if you love “quirky” zombie stories that had me laughing out loud several times, then you need to get the books in this series!

Zombie Fallout 3: The End by Mark Tufo is a black comedy that continues the journals of Mike Talbot as he desperately strives to save his family from the zombie horde and Eliza.

In a departure from the journal style of writing that this series is mostly written in, the volume starts from the point of view of Tracy and Travis as Carol’s farmhouse is being overwhelmed by the zombies. This is before the rescue of Mike and BT at the end of Volume 2. It also offers the perspective of Brendon from the time he left the group to the time he comes riding to the rescue. There are other times in this series that Mike Tufo will divert from the journal type of storytelling. These inserts are well done and flow well with the storyline. They also provide important information that gives a fuller understanding of what is happening.

Mike and his group have had a short time of recovery at Fort Custer in Michigan. However, Eliza is still on their tail and it’s time to get out of there. This volume recounts their fight to get out of the fort and their journey to Maine in an attempt to connect with Mike’s family at the family home.

This is an excellent addition to the continuing journey and fight. The characters stay true. The story continues to build and Mike is still as interesting and amusing as he has been. Pick up this series if you enjoy zombie apocalypse stories. You won’t be disappointed. I do highly recommend reading from the first book.

Book 3 was a worthy addition to the ongoing Fallout series. Ha, when i told my husband the name of the series, he asked, “We’re the zombies falling out of the sky?” Somehow i think Mike would appreciate that bit. Tufo – you know what you are doing, please never stop cranking them out. I’m not sure you can stop with a character like Talbot in your head 24/7.

For fans – don’t hesitate. Pick up book 1 of the series and hang on. Incredibly readable, enjoyable, cringe worthy… you’ll laugh, cry, grip the sis atm, laugh twice as hard, shot coffee out your nose and feel guilty about it, well, you get it. Now I’m getting on to ZF 4. Can’t keep Mike, Gary, Tommy, BT, Tracy, Coley, and the whole gaggle waiting…

I got the first of your books for free, zombie fallout was in some ways a release for me during a bad time in my personal life. I found myself reading the book more than most people consider healthy, but I’m a book person, my whole life has centered on reading.

Anyway, away from my own little tangent, I decided that the next book would be a fun ride as well. Three books in and you have captured and captivated me. I first started a couple of years ago, read all of the books you have published in this series at least three times in one go. Love the lycan fallout almost as much. And now we have the shreikers as well.

The words that had me hooked initially were in this order: I’m a…. germaphobe. And: some a-hole was licking my peephole. So what can I say? I’ve passed you on to other people whom may or may not grab their own copies, they can’t have mine.

Much love coming from my home to yours, aspiring author to published, you have done an excellent job so far. Each character has their own personality and there are plenty of quirks, no matter how many times I read the books there are always lines that make me laugh and giggle (generally scaring people around me because they have no idea wtf I am doing because I’ve got Mike in my head or in my headphone when work is slow.)
