The Family Upstairs is a fictional novel by Lisa Jewell. It is the first chapter of a brand new series named The Family Upstairs. Lisa Jewell is a British author who is mainly into writing popular fiction. If you want to experience something special from her literary archives then go with her Then She Was Gone novel. I Found You is another good one from Lisa Jewell.
The narration of The family Upstairs novel is done by Tamaryn Payne, Dom Thornburn, and Bea Holland. The narration was awesome throughout. However, towards the ending, it felt a bit flat.
The Family Upstairs
Clemency Thompson is a gifted musician who plays for tourists in the Southern France streets. While she was playing, she received some urgent text messages. Lucy, her childhood friend is asking her to immediately make a return to London.
Libby Jones became an orphan when she was just six months old. At the age of 25 now, she got surprised to know about inheritance. It was something big enough to change her life. A beautiful townhouse in one of the poshest localities of London has been under a trust for so many years. That house is now her property. There were a few secrets behind it that Libby ad to investigate.
This seems to be easy money for Libby but actually, it wasn’t that easy. She had secrets of her own and her safety might be at risk too.
This is a good book by Lisa Jewell but not as good as some of her other ones. The story was a bit slow to pick. The narration lacked consistency and it could have been better towards the end.
