Ta-Nehisi Coates is an author with a strong passion to describe feelings of family members for one another. This novel is no different than Between the World and Me and We Were Eight Years in Power in the development of scenes and reaching slowly to climax. The novel looks to be about a boy only but actually, it is about a whole family that is separated because of the injustice and cruelty of the era. Hiram at a very early age loses his mother not because of a mishap or accident rather because of a cruel act of injustice.
