I enjoy droll, sarcastic humor. When I first read this story, I had had a few startled laughs from how Ms. Hart composed her sentences. Dry humor, well timed. As I read more of it, I wondered if this was more of a cozy murder novel, rather than crime fiction or procedural and realized, by the end, it was. I\’m not overly thrilled with cozies. But the humor was good. The situations were funny but so OTT that even suspending my disbelief became difficult. I liked Addison and her family and friends, but after a while, it became tiresome. Someone else wrote that it was like I Love Lucy decided to become a detective. S/he was right. \”What I really thought was that Rosemarie needed a sex intervention and her own reality show, but that didn’t seem like the most supportive thing to say.\”

Whiskey, You\’re the Devil audiobook in series Addison Holmes
I finished this book because I finish books that I start. I am not even sure how to begin to describe this book. Every book by Liliana Hart I read prior to Whiskey You\’re the Devil I enjoyed. This book seems like an unfinished, hurried, rough draft that had not had it\’s first proof reading yet. I am not a prude, but way too much sex, and other than the fact that Addison seems to be suffering from a sex addiction, it adds little to the story. Rosemarie is over the top and the sex shop murder story line fits her, but the mystery seems almost irrelevant to the book. Addison gets her P.I. license and then stops investigating. The Spock and Kahn subplot had potential but goes nowhere. The entire story feels very unfinished. Ms. Hart has entertained me a great deal in the past with her stories, but one more like this and I won\’t be reading, or buying either, any more of her books.

Audiobook Whiskey, You\’re the Devil by Liliana Hart
Addison Holmes is about to take her P.I exam while living in Sin with her boyfriend and right when everything seem to be going in the right direction Rosemaire Valentines fingerprints are found on a murder weapon used to kill a Sex shop owner. Addison calls on the gang to help solve the case before Rosemarie is toss into jail with no hope. So with the help of NIck, Savage, Kate, her sister and mom what could possibly go wrong? Everything. I couldn\’t wait for this book to come out and at 10pm because that when it was loaded on to my Kindle I started to read and found myself after a half an hour later putting it book down and going to bed because it was missing something. When I finished reading Whiskey You\’re The Devil the only words that came to mind is flat. The story fell flat, the characters fell flat and yes there was humor and fun but something just didn\’t seem to flow right. I had so much hope for this book but instead from the same characters doing the same things without any growth made for one uninteresting story. Addison is still finding herself in awkward situations that have tons of humor but everyone else fall flat. At first I was laughing so hard and her cases were interesting but before I knew it the book wrapped everything into a nice little bow with very little action. Everything was \”Solved\” in a few short paragraphs which made me feel a little short changed. I love this series and I pray that Liliana Hart doesn\’t decided to go with the Stephanie Plum where its an endless love struggle between \”Two Hot guys\” and no character development. The cliff hangers from the last book is answered but it take awhile. The dinner scene with mom, the lawyer, her sister and Rosemarie had me laughing so hard but that whenever everything ended. After that if felt like she took scene and thought it would be good to slap them here and there making the book choppy. She gave us another cliff hanger and since there are two more books in the series which makes me hope for some development in the next book.

Audio Whiskey, You\’re the Devil narrated by Connie Ventress
While I really enjoyed reading this book and laughed out loud a lot more than during the previous ones, I felt cheated out of the mystery/detective part. The book is fun, and focuses on Addison\’s friend getting arrested, but it seems to be mostly about Addison and Nick. The crime solving, that used to be more prominent in the prior books, seemed much less important and some of it didn\’t really make sense. Like why did Rosemarie even get pulled into the Pricialla thing? Not much investigating either (though I love Addison\’s mom). They investigated the crime for what…. a day, and then it sort of solved itself. To me, this book felt unfinished, it was just a love story with a funny side story.

I did enjoy this story as always. I was a little sad in the middle of the book but I hope later we get more and things change. This book was just as the others suspensful however I was able to guess who did it before it was even brought up to anyone else, it was a I\’ve seen and heard it before type of scenario. I do hope for more since it was left in a cliffhanger and a bad one because you just want to straggle someone, who I\’m not quite sure who. It would of been five stars but for two reasons I can not give it five. Number one is the grammer, too many spelling mistakes again. It is ultimately the authors job to make sure her book-\”baby\” is 100% ready to read, I\’m not sure if she needs a new editor or needs to spend more time making sure her book is perfect for her readers. The other reason is because poor Addison doesn\’t understand her own emotions! She is almost thirty years old you know what you want by then, either to be single and have fun or to settle down, come-on Addison stop giving females a bad rep!
