Your Hidden Superpower

There are SOOOOO many things that I loved about this book! One of my favorite parts of is when Adrienne states, “Kindness is following impulses that will cause no harm, are totally selfless, and sometimes seem like they make absolutely no sense”. Sometimes you just get this feeling or impulse to act on something that will bring kindness into someone else’s world … Like Adrienne, I’ve been on both ends of this scenario and can say, without a doubt, that it always puts a smile on two faces – both yours and the person on the other end of the act of kindness. It’s a win-win! She calls it “Spontaneous Selflessness”. I even love the name! As the founder of a small non-profit whose mission is to spread kindness in memory of our son, our beautiful 10 year old boy (now 14 years old in Heaven) who loved to perform random acts of kindness, I gleaned so many inspiring and helpful tidbits all throughout Adrienne’s book! It’s going to be a sort of study guide for me if you will. I plan on purchasing more books to give away not only to our social media followers but also to family and friends. I firmly believe that everyone in the world should own a copy of this book right now!! Thank you Adrienne for being such an inspiration, amazing role model, and mentor to so many. (If you’re ever doing a book signing in the Raleigh, NC area I will be the first in line! Hint, hint ?) I have a lot of work to do. I have been held back recently from fear and your book has helped me to gain the strength I need to move forward, releasing the fears that have been holding me back for so long. For that I can’t thank you enough ❤️ You are a bright light in this world during a time that we all need as much light in each day as we can possibly find. I can’t recommend this book highly enough!

This book was an enjoyable easy, relatable, teachable read. Adrienne is so transparent I laughed and cried and found myself asking the tough questions. I recommend it to everyone, it is such a timely read. Putting even a small portion to practice would be a world changer at best!

The world needs more people like Adrienne! I loved her message so much (as you might tell by the amount of highlights I made), and have already seen it make a difference in my work. I sometimes felt the writing was a little wordy (but part of that comes from my brain constantly editing things; I can’t turn it off!). Active voice is my new favorite thing, and I’d love to see that more here and elsewhere. Still—this book is so important and worthwhile! Lots of great stories, and a helpful resource list is included at the end.

I’ve always tried to be kind! Being kind for the sake of it and at times…. to help de-escalate a gnarly situation! I was sooo humbled and grateful to have been gifted this book!! Learning how easy and simple true kindness IS…how soulful a gift and at times … a tool to break through to people in dire pain! NOW, I use a smile more often and realize that sometimes, just LISTENING is a powerful gift! Yep… read this and be uplifted! ?

This is definitely a book I will re-read several times, likely once per year. As a kind person in an unkind world, seeing this kindness as a superpower is a gigantic shift in mindset. This book is a beautifully written work.
