It is another short little story for new beginners or for those who feel tired while looking at bulky novels. Orphan X series by Gregg Hurwitz is full of everything which appeals to the audience except romance. Romance has not been there in the novel which frustrates some because without it the life of a hero looks incomplete.
The only female character who has continued with Evan till now is Joey Morales i.e the girl he saved in Hellbent. Joey was the last of the recruits who were hired in the Orphan program.
THE LIST
She would not be alive till now if Evan hadn’t found her on the call of his mentor. Joey is still being looked after by Evan and she has joined the university now for the completion of her education. Keeping a low profile is what the two remaining Orphans have adopted as a trick to survive.
One night in the university Joey finds the dead body of a woman who has committed suicide. When she investigates about the reason she finds out that there is a group of boys in the university which forms a list in which name of women is written according to their sexual appeal. The List caused the death of that woman and Joey is after the group of boys after that. The girl takes the help of Evan too and the mission gets intense for both of them who have planned to eradicate the root cause. Joey was a tough character for Scott Brick to narrate this time because has changed this time. The Intern: An Orphan X Short Story also had a female character in it which Scott Brick narrated but she was the timid sort who needed Evan’s help. Joey is the daring warrior who will one day take Evan’s position as the Nowhere Man.
