Her Bush

While reading I don’t routinely laugh out loud literally, but Ms. Bloom’s books are that good. I was laughing at work while reading HER BUSH and my male co-worker asked what had me laughing. I was actually crying b/c I was laughing so hard! Well-written, fast-paced, slow burn love affair even if it only takes a couple of days technically. Nell Snell, unfortunate name which she admits to, is 22yo and thus far has been a failure at everything she’s tried. Her roommate Davey gets her a job of manicuring hedges to look like something other than greenery, in other words, topiary art. Nell has no clue what to do but she accidentally makes…nuh uh. You’ll have to read this part. TOO funny. Harry is a publisher we met in HER SECRET b/c Harry’s brother is Peter, the lead character in that book. I love how so many of the characters will have cameo appearances throughout Ms. Bloom’s books. You really get to follow that couple’s progress even though each book is a standalone story. When Harry met Nell…now THAT was a great meet-cute! When Harry speaks about his “big ass sword” in chapter 2, he endeared himself to me. I’m glad they got their HEA despite Damian and his father Nathaniel. If you like romantic comedy, which is LOL humorous, get this book. You will not be disappointed. This last book of the Objects of Attraction SERIES. is just as funny as you might expect. William plays a large role, which pretty much guaranteed laugh out loud moments. In fact, the heroine, Nell, is exactly what I think you would get if William and Bruce\’s side had a baby. She is a perfect mesh of clutzy, cluelessly adorable, and bravely explorative, mixed in with a side of quirky, and she is always, just…herself. She is fun to read about. And Harry is her perfect foil, a respected businessman, someone who has made himself what he is, and made his money by working both hard and smart. He enjoys his money, but doesn\’t base his identity or his self worth on it so, it is hard for him when everyone he has ever dated does. He wants someone genuine, and there is no one else quite as uniquely genuine than Nell. Well, no other WOMAN, that is. I already brought up her correlation with William. Anyway, they are an awesome couple, and immensely enjoyable to read about. You will have to read yourself to find up what hijinx they get up to with the other characters of this series. The only reason I did not give it 4 stars is because the love scene was a little underwhelming considering the build up. It could use some more steam, but other than that, it\’s a great story. The puns are priceless!

Puns galore, with vivid pictures running rampant through my mind,(Which ones? Would you like to know? No, probably not) The sixth book in the Objections Of Attraction books had my imagination running wild with possibilities for future landscape designs.. to the chagrin of my Foreman Landscaping hubby! (hehe) An awkwardly, sweet, fun, hearts, flowers, and blooming bushes kind of read with an underlying sensual tension and chemistry for days kind of feel. The mix of humorous, heartfelt, and everything in between that goes on between Nell Snell ( the name alone.. poor girl ) and Harry a would have been enough to keep my eyes glued to the pages. Penelope Bloom went and added in William and Grammy (MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS EVER!!) along with Hailey, Peter, and Violet to keep our main characters on the right path and created a solid gold storyline I did not want to put down! Phew! I have had so much F.U.N reading these stories! I cannot wait to see what the future brings for Ms. Bloom! If you have not read any of the Object Of Attraction Books, enjoy Hilarasly sexy outside the box pun-filled shenanigans I HIGHLY recommend #oneclicking on any of the 1-6 standalones!

HER BUSH PENELOPE BLOOM Review by Author Roy Murry What can I say about HER BUSH? Funny and sexual are the first words that come to mind. The novel is funny because of the plot. It is a young woman who accidentally performs topiary, sculpting a bush into a complete penis by mistake. Funny innuendos abound. She does the work on the property of a wealthy publisher. They meet, and the courting games begin. There are twists and turns in promoting HER BUSH as art and in their relationship. That commingling and art endeavor leads to a sexual and enjoyable ending. This novel is the second that I have read of Ms. Blooms, of which there are many. The other was HIS BANANA. Both novels are quick and fun reads. I will go back for fun more soon.

I really have enjoyed this series of books and wanted to love this one as much as the others, but I just didn’t. The entire book felt rushed and many of the components that made the other books so fun were lacking in this one. For instance: the relationship between Nell and Harry just didn’t feel authentic; their courting period seemed too quick, without the usual conflict and build-up of sexual tension before they ended up together (and when they finally did, it was pretty disappointing). Also, the bit with Damian was all resolved too quickly, and adding in William and Granny seemed like an afterthought just meant to tie the story in with the other books. Too bad, but this one I just can’t recommend.
