Harrowhark gets all the troubles of her life in a single blow. According to some people, she is the chosen one and has achieved the heights of fame at an early age but for her, she has received hell.
The summoning from the emperor was like a summons of death for her. Being the last necromancer in the land, Harrow is destined to take part in a battle which she cannot win at any rate. This is just the first trouble which she faces; there are other worries too that are making her mind go round and round.
HARROW THE NINTH
Her health is deteriorating just when she needs her full strength on the battlefield. Her sword which she has to carry in the battle is just pathetic and she thinks that they cannot coexist in the battle.
Moreover, those who are teaching her also hate her and think she is not worthy of anything. A scary ghost on her tail is a bonus in her troubled life. With all these issues in hand Harrow prepares for the battle which would decide the fate of the entire universe on a specific day. Tamsyn Muir’s book Gideon the Ninth was sold like hot cakes when it was published. That book also had the same theme and even the destiny of the woman or the main character was the same.
But there is a personality difference here which Moira Quirk narrates i.e the lady in the novel is not mentally and physically prepared for the war. She is weak and she thinks that she would never be able to perform the job for which she is chosen by the emperor.
