This book wasn\’t for me. I love paranormal fantasy, however, I just cannot relate to a character who is 20 years old and talks like she is 15. I wish I had known that the main character was so young as this would have hinted at the age-group this book was intended for. Unfortunately, I just can\’t get on board with someone who talks like she texts and has survival instincts comparable to those of a drunk lemur. The narrator was great, but unfortunately the story just wasn\’t for me.

When I caught the flu and had to stay in bed all day, I spent my waking hours listening to ASH. Vampire hybrids who must fight to the death to survive. Sexy commando type love interests. Best Friends Forever. What\’s not to love? I will be waiting for the sequel.

Intricate storyline with just the right mix of buff male bods and interesting female. Excellent first book of a trilogy. Recommended good read.

Audio Ash (Hive Trilogy #1) narrated by Dara Rosenberg
I went to purchase the 2nd book in this series as soon as \”the end\” was said & got pissed off. It\’s not there. How can you put one book of this trilogy in audio version and not give me the rest? That is just cruel. This is a different take on vampire stories where vamps can have children that are called ASH [rather than half bloods] and they live in Hives with the Vamps. However, they only have male offspring and yet one female is born. The beginning has a Hunger Games type scenario in it. I just can\’t mention too much more because I don\’t want to give anything away. I can\’t wait to learn more about the world that Charlie and Ryder live in. Even though I enjoyed the book, I was left wanting more as if it just cut off at the place I had been waiting for things to really take off. There was action but… My sheer frustration at that made me rate it a 4 on the story rather than a 5. I needed more NOW. The 8.5 hour book flew by so fast that I was shocked when it was over. I even checked twice to see if my phone had malfunctioned and skipped chapters. Sadly, not. The characters are so well defined that I can see many, many books to come from this series. I know that the planned trilogy just isn\’t enough. I have too many questions about all the supporting characters They have drawn me in and I am hooked. Ryder\’s team needs to be fully explored as do Charlie\’s friends. Plus, I need to know the backstory about Charlie\’s Mom & Dad. I\’m sure that her Dad has an exciting story to tell. The only way I can see full justice done to the supporting characters is for each book to be at least 20-30 hours long (if it is going to be a trilogy). Most of my interest was placed on the characters because I could actually see many as people that I may have known in my life. I laughed at their antics but was also worried about the outcome of their lives. The author did too good of a job and has me hooked. That\’s not a good thing for my frustration level right now. Just call me frustrated and wanting more.
