Red rising gave the idea of a color-coded system instead of a caste system. People of this new world are divided into different groups according to color which represents their status in society. Darrow rises against this whole madness in which people are not provided with equal rights in society. Rising was not easy because this made the followers of the system his enemy and they come down and Darrow and his friends with full force. Cruel fights and killings resulted because of this chaos after which Darrow finally got the upper hand in the fight.

Gold loyalists were defeated but not completely. On the surface, the color-coded system perished but it still exists after the war in the heart of the old rulers and their followers. Thus it is not peace everywhere, especially in the minds and hearts of the enemy. Pierce Brown describes the efforts of the Gold loyalists to rise back to the surface once more as they try to bring down the newly formed law and government. Red Rising and Golden Son were about conspiracies and here the society faces the consequence of war which includes a lack of basic facilities too.
Listening to the book first time gives the hint that Tim Gerard Reynolds has dominated the narration. I listened closely we will notice that John Curless, Julian, and Aedin Moloney also have an equal role. Voices in the background during the fight scenes and on the battleground are all delivered by these narrators who have played their role fully. The color caste system ends but after the end of those who used to follow it.
