To say that Stella London is shocked at the wedding invitation she received would be an understatement. After all, not only is the invitation to her ex boyfriends wedding, its also to her best friends wedding. Thats right, Stellas ex-boyfriend and the woman she thought was her best friend are getting married, just a few short months after Stella and her ex broke up. There is no way shes going, why would she? There is no reason in the world that could get her to go to this wedding, or at least thats what she thought. Enter Beck Wilde. A handsome businessman, Beck needs to go to this wedding, after much thought, Stella decides shell go and Beck can be her plus one. Both have something the other needs, and both agree this is just pretend, but a week spent in Scotland, will it only be pretend when they come home? I adore Louise Bays books, they make me long to travel to London and see everything! She writes so descriptively, and I truly feel like Im as much a part of the book as the characters. This book was absolutely wonderful, and I loved watching Beck coax Stella out of her shell, and I loved watching Stella help Beck realize there is more to life than business. They are one of my favorite Louise Bay couples! Im honestly just crossing my fingers that we get to revisit some of the secondary characters, and that hopefully they will get their own stories! Im just saying I think Dexter needs some love!

I haven\’t read this author in about five years. I have downloaded a few of her books over the years, but I haven\’t had the chance to read them. I am glad I decided to read this shortly after I downloaded it. I couldn\’t have been happier with this one. I connected with the heroine almost instantly. There was something about her that I adored. She was real. She was raw. She wore her heart on her sleeve. I don\’t know how I couldn\’t like her. This book starts off pulling your heartstrings from the go. Then it takes you on a joyride of a fake relationship and a little payback that couldn\’t have been more enjoyable. The rollercoaster of a ride this book took me on was fun! Beck was the perfect half of Stella she didn\’t know she had… yet. While he intrigues her and she is highly attracted to him, she had no clue what she was signing up for when she agreed to a favor for a favor. He hit her like a ton of bricks. If there was one thing I can say I didn\’t care for in this book it was the climax on command aspect. It\’s not a dealbreaker. But it\’s too cliche for me. It\’s one of those things in a book that has me sighing deeply and rolling my eyes. However, to each their own. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I can guarantee I will be reading more from this author in the future.

Audiobook Mr. Mayfair (The Mister Series #1) by Louise Bay

Mr. Mayfair by Louise Bay is a brand new standalone contemporary romance set in London and told in dual POV between Stella London and Beck Wilde. This book is romantic and steamy and also a little sad. The drama surrounding Stella\’s ex-boyfriend and her best friend and their wedding she was shockingly invited to was sad in a way most of us can say we can commiserate with. Whether he cheated, lied, deceived or was just an ass, we have all had those icky feelings of being betrayed at some point in our lives but the way she blossoms with Beck at her side. It\’s magical. More so because it isn\’t Beck doing it for her – but she is changing and realizing her own value by herself just with Beck\’s encouragement. The week in Scotland was beautifully written – the plot twists were well-done and the happy ending was hard-earned. I am more than excited to read about the rest of Beck\’s friends and with confirmation that Dexter\’s book is next- I can\’t wait! Enjoy!

Audio Mr. Mayfair (The Mister Series #1) narrated by Saskia Maarleveld Shane East

What the heck is going on with Louise Bay? My word. Where do I start? Firstly, where are all these 5 star reviews coming from? This book was boring. Dreadfully boring. The heat between the H/h was lackluster. The h seemed hung up on her ex for the majority of the book. The H was blah. Ending felt rushed, getting together was an afterthought. I really want my money back but I feel terrible after having returned a few earlier disappointments from other authors. Louise Bay? You owe me.

Mr. Mayfair by Louise Bay is a standalone, contemporary, fake relationship romance told in first person, dual POV. Stella London is shocked when she receives an invitation to her exboyfriend\’s wedding. Sure, they\’re not together… but it has only been two months, and she thought they were just taking a break. The worst part of this betrayal is that he\’s marrying her best friend. How could this be happening? How long have they been seeing each other? And why would they even invite her? Stella is determined not to have any part in it. She can\’t support their union, it\’s humiliating. That wedding is the last place she wants to be. Beck Wilde has been trying unsuccessfully to meet with a businessman that he knows will be attending a wedding. He needs to get himself invited so that he can approach him and try to secure this deal. So he makes Stella a proposition to be her plus one. Initially, she\’s not interested. But Beck is wildly successful with very deep pockets and he\’s willing to give her anything she wants in return. Eventually, they come to a mutually beneficial business agreement. What could possibly go wrong? I loved Stella and Beck\’s story! They were both great characters – likeable, flawed, and well-developed. The chemistry between them was fantastic. I enjoyed the secondary characters too. I\’m hoping to see some of them again in future books. The story hooked me from the start and I found it difficult to put down. This page-turner was fun, sexy, and romantic. It\’s the first book I\’ve read by the author and definitely will not be the last. I loved it!
