Lock-In is a genre fiction novel. It is the opening volume of the Lick In Series. This book is written by John Scalzi. He is an American author who writes excellent fantasy fiction and science fiction novels. The Ghost Brigades is regarded as the best-ranked novel which John Scalzi has written so far. Apart from this, his The Collapsing Empire novel also got a lot of appreciation.
Wil Wheaton narrated this chapter. You will enjoy this performance by Wil as he appears to be right at the top of his game. His tonal quality and expression used as per the mood of the characters are just outstanding.
Lock-In
Not too long ago, an extremely contagious virus spread all across the world. The majority of people who got sick didn’t experience anything worse than fever, flu, and headaches. But, for that unlucky 1 %, the disease used to cause the ‘Lock In’. There were almost five million of those unlucky ones in the United States alone. In the Lock In condition, the victims are always fully aware, but they are unable to move or even respond to the spur. It was a disease that could affect anyone including, old, young, poor, rich, and those from any ethnicity.
After 25 years, Chris Shame, an FBI agent paired up with Leslie Vann, who was a veteran from FBI. The two of them are handed over a task to investigate a murder. The suspect was an ‘integrator’ who is someone capable of allowing the locked in to get their bodies for any specific time.

Lock In has not got the humor which Jon Scalzi is known for. But, it is good for its storyline and the different characters it has. This book is the fifth collaboration between author, John Scalzi, and narrator, Wil Wheaton and it is a wonderful combination.
