After reading this book I’ve come to the conclusion I’m finished with this series.

There are several inconsistencies with the writer’s bio.

He says he has a degree and worked in HR, yet he doesn’t know the difference between your and you’re.
He says he was a US Marine but at one point in the story the main character refers to his Drill Sergeant. The Marine Corps doesn’t have Drill Sergeants, it has Drill Instructors. This isn’t something a Marine forgets or mis-types. I went through bootcamp in 2002 and the title “Drill Instructor” is still melding into my brain as part of the NAME of the Marines that were my Drill Instructors. I cannot say their name without putting the title in front of it.

These books are basically just some guy’s LARP fantasy about what he’d do in a zombie situation. It started out entertaining but most of the books after the first are just repetition of the same thing. I mean, wow, the dog farts. That’s hilarious, lets devote pages and pages and pages to it in every single book. Comedy gold.

The End Has Come and Gone audiobook in series Zombie Fallout

As always, delving into a story about the life, times, and adventures (see struggle to survive) of Mike Talbot is greatly rewarding. I’ve been reading and re-reading these books since their release. Mark Tufo is one of two authors I will always return to when I need to read good zombie fiction, and if it’s a Mike Talbot story it will be good with or without zombies. (ie: Aliens, werewolves, etc) Tufo knows a good story when he thinks it up, he knows how to make endearing, memorable characters, and he knows how to keep your interests held. I often wish Talbot was real, so I could share a beer with him and trade some witty banter and stories for a night. Bottom line: Read this series. You will not be disappointed.

Audiobook The End Has Come and Gone by Mark Tufo

I am so immersed in this series it is unbelievable! I purchase book 1 on October 10 and have not stopped reading since. The characters are so memorable and I have grown attached to each and every one of them. Characters are in my head with I am reading and if a description changes how I have imagined them it is difficult to correct the image. Like Mrs. Deneaux pictures as a fat old lady chain smoking all the time. The chain smoking was correct but later she was described as skinny!
Mike Talbot and BT are perfect in my image, strong, protective and not afraid of anything. If you have ever seen Last Man Standing, BT is Chuck in my head, especially when he tells Mike “Not cool”.
Anyway, this is a great series of books and I highly recommend it for anyone who loves high suspense, zombie, apocalyptic stores with a major dose of humor, this is it. The humor is unexpected most times and is actually makes you laugh out loud.

Audio The End Has Come and Gone narrated by Sean Runnette

Help! I’m addicted to this series and the adjoining Michael Talbot Universe (multiverses?) As per usual, having finished Book 4 of ZF, I’ll be picking up Book 5 immediately. Most likely I will not stop until i have read all the conjoining series. What to say specifically about Book 4 without spoilers? Always start this series at Book 1. They are not stand alone novels. This particular addition packs quite the wallop! More is revealed about Eliza, new friends come, others part ways, and in the end, Michael faces what i consider his biggest challenge to date. Thrills, child, and a never ceasing parade of zombies. Plus Durgan. Always Durgan. You’ll dislike him as much as we all do, but not as much as Talbot. Are you a BT fan? Have no fear, BT is here… along with the ever stalwart Henry and his gaseous commentary.

Enjoy!!!

Talbot’s smart sarcasm and whole demeanor is what keeps me hooked. I never thought I’d be reading a vampire/zombie book! The idea of it sounds …corny, maybe even imbarrassing? When I heard myself ranting about it to my 23 year old son, it didn’t sound interesting at all. But to be honest, I been hooked on these serious like sugar to a toddler! Excuse my language, but the shit-talking is hilarious (and clever)! He’s wife kinda annoys me, but all the more realistic (relationship wise). I don’t know, at some point I started to wonder if he’d be better off hooking up with Eliza (main vampire, zombie controlling bitch), than his nagging wife. Anyways, it’s a great series. To put it simple: NOT BORING. P.s. (spoiler) my eyes got watery when Bear died.
