All That We Are

I really loved this book! Military Romances are easily becoming one of my favorite tropes. I really love all the emotion in these books. Harlow & Miles’ story is no exception. I also loved that this wasn’t your traditional brother’s best friend romance. It was heartbreaking to learn about all that these two went through during their time away from their hometown. It was also amazing to see how those years apart helped them to see the other in a new light. I loved seeing Harlow be able to use her caring nature to help/calm Miles. It was nice to see her bring that side out of Miles too. I really enjoyed witnessing their love story unfold before my eyes. Also to see how far they would each go for the other. Miles’ protectiveness and Harlow’s forgiving/understanding in regards to his military experiences. I also really loved the secondary characters. Her parents, her brother, and the other employees at the tattoo shop. This is definitely A Must Read for any fans of her writing. It is also A Must Read for Military Romance fans. I look forward to seeing what Melissa writes next.

I’m beyond words when it comes to All That We Are. This book will get you right where it counts. It will settle into your soul and may be just that book to give you a nice hangover. The emotions that you’ll experience are high but so worth the ride Melissa Toppen takes you on. I love the way Melissa Toppen has with words and makes you feel when it comes to Harlow and Miles. This is one fantastic brothers best friends romance. I love the hate to love relationship. There is a somewhat magical feeling behind the build up to more between Harlow and Miles. The healing that happens with both Harlow and Miles is beautiful. Miles is still suffering from the affects of war and watching with him finally tell his story will leave you grabbing those tissues. The emotional rollercoaster is so worth it with this one. I simply loved reading about Miles and Harlow. THIS IS A NEED TO ONE CLICK READ IN MY EYES!

They say everything happens for a reason- that theres always a light at the end of the tunnel. For the longest time I didnt think that was true. I had stumbled around in the dark for so many years that I didnt think I would ever find my way out. But when I finally did, it came in the most unexpected way.

Miles Hollins had been my brothers best friend for as long as I could remember. We didnt like each other much growing up. Or rather, we couldnt stand each other. But after ten years of being gone, a lot had changed.

He wasnt the same boy I remembered. I wasnt the same girl either. So much had happened.
I moved away and got married.
Miles joined the military.
We both returned home broken in our own way.

I struggled to find my place in my new life. Miles struggled just to get through the day. But together we slowly began to heal. I quieted his demons and he gave me a sense of belonging. For a while that was enough.

But this is real life, and in real life nothing stays perfect forever. In real life not every story ends with a happily ever after. Sometimes the scars we carry are just too deep.

I promised him I would fight.
He promised me I would lose.
Ill do everything in my power to prove him wrong. Because its when you find the one thing you cant live without, that you truly find yourself.

Loved Miles & Harlow’s story! This book was flawlessly written and the emotions that I felt throughout left me breathless! Their story wasn’t an easy one, they both had a lot of baggage and it was awesome to see them work through their issues! Highly recommend!

When I read what the book was about I knew that I was going to love. What I hadn’t counted on was how much. I already loved the books that I had previously read by Melissa but they just keep getting better. This book just proves that although we may think that we hate someone or something that doesn’t mean that we always will. It also proves that we may make decision before truly getting to know deep down how someone actually is. The characters both are haunted by things that have gone on in their lives which definitely made it more appealing because I love when things relate more to life than fairy tale. I read the entire book in one sitting so thats is how I know that the book was absolutely captivating. I give it a high five star rating.

I had not read this author before, but this was truly a love story made in Heaven!! She was able to incorporate the pain of war with the aftereffects coming home with the soldier. Beautifully done and I loved the entire book!!!
