Back Bay Blues (An Andy Roark Mystery #2)

I once again enjoyed Peter Colt’s writing style and his vivid descriptions of his characters and scenery, which allow you to easily visualize what he describes. Andy Roark is a sharp investigator with a heroic and skilled past as an Army Special Forces soldier in Vietnam. Colt takes the reader on an exciting ride through Roark’s past running recon missions in Vietnam as his latest case has him investigating an underground Vietnamese movement throughout the US. The book has many unexpected turns that will pleasantly surprise the reader and the end will definitely leave you wanting to see what Roark is up to next. I’m looking forward to the next Andy Roark mystery!

I feel in love with the first book and by the time I read the second, I wanted a divorce. Too much regurgitating the past. This guy Andy needs some professional help.

I really enjoyed both of his books! Great characters, good dialogue, and plenty of twists along the journey. Minor quibbles with some editing but definitely enjoy the resurgence of Boston Private Eye fiction and the homage references to Robert Parker‘s Spenser.

Really enjoyed the Andy Roark adventure. Great characters, lots of plot twists and turns and really appreciated some of the flashbacks to Viet Nam. Both Andy Roark books are well worth the read. Can’t wait for the next one!
