FINAL DECISION: I love these extra moments with beloved characters. A year after the events of BEAUTIFUL BASTARD, we get to see that the HEA is something that has to be worked at but is real.

THE STORY: A year after BEAUTIFUL BASTARD, Bennett finds that Chloe’s burgeoning career and his own obligations can be difficult on a relationship. Planning a trip together tempts fate which has caused problems every time the two have tried to travel together.

OPINION: This novella is for fans of BEAUTIFUL BASTARD. It is about how Chloe and Bennett are challenged to fit their lives and careers together. Even so, it contains the same big sense of fun, sexy times and the big strong personalities of these characters. I enjoyed this as an add on to the original book. I don’t think it would stand up on its own, but I just didn’t care. For fans of BEAUTIFUL BASTARD, this is required reading.

WORTH MENTIONING: This is a novella.

CONNECTED BOOKS: This book is book 1.5 in the Beautiful series. It really is an epilogue or continuing story from BEAUTIFUL BASTARD and should be read after that book.

STAR RATING: I give this book 5 stars.

My re-read journey of The Beautiful Series continues. This is a bonus novella to give us BB fanatics a little more Bennett and Chloe time. We certainly didnt get our fill yet! After the chase and the struggle for Bennett and Chloe to find their footing we now get to see what it is like when these two really join forces and we see what their happily ever after looks like now that the two are joined.

“I felt a smile pull at my mouth. This was us. It was such a familiar battle of love and frustration, desire and exasperation. She would push every button I had, and then uncover new ones I didnt even know I had, and push those.”

Life for these two powerful, business world people would be anything but a walk in the park, right? How about spending a little time in France?! Reality has set in after their time spent hooking up in Ryan Media Group stairwells and they find that in their business driven world neither is spending the time with the other like they would like. Two people, who before their careers were their whole lives, now need to prioritize and figure out how to still make time to be wholly present with the one that they love.

I can function without you. But I dont like being away from you. It feels like you take my home with you when you go.

This basically picks up where BB(1) left off. It is done in a way where it is actually set 11 months later but through memories we see exactly what happened from right after Chloes big presentation to how they got to where they are today. We get to see more of their HEA and how the Chloe and Bennett co-exist now that their secret is public knowledge. We see Chloe nervously (yah, her nervous!) re-join the Ryan family, now as the girlfriend of Bennett. We see the BB get to sweat it out a bit while meeting Chloes dad for the first time, after he is sure her farther has heard stories about what a nightmare her boss was (maybe still is). We see how they navigate both working at RMG now that Chloe is no longer an intern but a full-fledge employee.

Find a woman who will be your equal in every way. Dont let yourself fall for someone wholl put your world before theirs. Fall for the powerhouse who lives as fearlessly as you do. Find the woman who makes you want to be a better man.”

It is light and fun and just the right amount of dosage to satisfy the ache leaving Bennett Ryan had left, especially when we get to see Bennett in love. Christina Lauren creates novels that are fun, sassy, steamy, and swoon-worthy. Bennett is a charismatic and oh so sexy. Chloe is a strong, ambitious lady easy to cheer for.You will hear no complaints from me about this return!

Audiobook Beautiful Bitch (Beautiful Bastard #1.5) by Christina Lauren

The Beautiful Bastard Read-A-Thon continues. Okay, so this isn’t an “official thing” but I am plowing through all of the books so I can be caught up with this series. One of my goals this year was to finish series I started and read some series I’ve been wanting to read for a long time. The Beautiful Bastard series is a series I’ve been wanting to pick up and I’m glad I did!

I really enjoyed Beautiful Bastard a lot and was anxious to see what happened after the boardroom scene. Beautiful Bitch gives readers a look back at what happened directly after book one and a glimpse at how Chloe and Bennett are doing about a year later. As to be expected Chloe and Bennett are married to their work, yet still committed to each other.

One of the things I really like about Bennett is how sweet he is to Chloe. Before I started this series, I was sort of expecting this domineering, a**hole boss. He was an a**hole (sometimes) but he also had a soft side. There was one moment that was so freaking cute that it made me grin from ear to ear. Chloe and Bennett have a code word they use whenever there is a work emergency. Bennett misses her so much so he uses the code word just to get her to his office so he could see her. How adorable is that, huh?

The conflict in this book was the fact that they’re both so busy getting the New York location of Ryan Media Group ready to launch as well as manage their own accounts. I found myself skimming through most of this novella just because not much was happening.

Anyway, I thought this novella was okay. I still find the whole panty-ripping thing to be completely ridiculous. I think one of two panty-ripping incidents would have been fine by me, but seriously, Bennett, every time…really? It’s not necessary. I guarantee you, dude, you could get to Pleasuretown without ruining Chloe’s knickers every.single.time.

2.5 stars

Audio Beautiful Bitch (Beautiful Bastard #1.5) narrated by Grace Grant; Kirby Heybourne

After LOVING the first 2 books in the series I pre-ordered this book and if I’m honest, I must admit that I feel slightly short changed as the book is so short (approx 2 hour reading time compared to 5 hours for the first two – nearly half less pages than the others).

I have just finished reading it and although I love the characters and style of writing, I didn’t really enjoy it as much as the other 2 (which I seriously couldn’t put down) … maybe because, in my opinion it felt rushed and repeated in areas with not really much of a story line follow on. I will carry on with the series in a hope that the 4th book gets back on track, story and amount of pages wise. Fingers Crossed
