City of Girlsư
It was the year 1940 when Vivian Morris, 19 years old just got kicked out of Vassar College. She was owing to her uninspiring performance of the freshman year. She was sent to Manhattan by her wealthy parents. She had to stay there with her Aunt Peg.
She owns a flamboyant midtown theater there which was known as Lily Playhouse. Vivian in the city was introduced to the cosmos of the charismatic and the unconventional characters. It included those fun chasing showgirls as well and the likes of a grand dame actress, sexy male actor and a lady killer writer, etc.
The storyline of this book is just fine. You will like it for its descriptions of New York City. The plot didn’t stretch around to many places rather, it wandered around and a few events were seen here and there. This book is more of a biography of the life of a woman.
