I really hoped this book would provide some redemption but nope , Hades continued to be as pathetic as he was in the previous book.

One of the biggest drug dealers going , has an army of help and endless money , yet he let his wife be kidnapped , raped , and at no point did he do anything as payback , then he goes into partnership with her rapist and when she leaves him to protect herself and their child he blames her. IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!

He was so pathetic that his now Ex wife has to deal with the trash …. and still he hated & blamed her.

The to cap it all off , he gets help to no longer love her and then goes shagging anything he can get his hands on , then suddenly gets jealous of her coz other men are interested and magically falls in love with her again and all is forgiven. IT MAKES NO SENSE !!

I do love this authors books usually and will continue to buy them and hope never to experience an insane character like this again. Considering her previous books and the characters who had similar jobs , money & power it emphasizes why Hades was just all wrong.

If you can tolerate the pathetic man who treated the women who loves him and gives him a son like crap beyond words, then go ahead and buy, but be warned.

What happened to Hades?! He dug up all the past hurts that he and Sophia had worked through and used it like an armor. In what world would a half decent man expect a woman that he calls his soulmate, whether pregnant or not, to remain in close proximity of her rapist solely because it brought him -Hades- comfort because they were suffering together. He actually resented her leaving and thought he got the shorter end of the deal. At that point, his history should have kicked in- did he not want more for his child than he had growing up??

Weak , weak, weak.

I detest the antiquated storylines where a man cannot keep it in his pants but freaks out when his woman even hints at moving on. Why do authors continue to write like it is 1980? Sophia spends most of this book begging this numbnut to take her back. For being raped?

Hades then made a choice to free himself which he knew would theoretically mean condemning her to fate where she loves but is not loved. The term cursing her was used and yet he was okay with that. I would have more respect if he asked for both of them to be freed from their link but he only asked for his freedom – meaning he has been yapping about her not loving him enough but knowingly cursing her at the same time to loving him while he could stop loving her. All because she left him when he was outmaneuvered and forced to partner with her rapist. That is the cruelty of a weak man.

Review #3

Audiobook Committed (Betrothed #4) by Penelope Sky

I didn’t like this series because of Hades. I was about a third way into this book and I was already tired of love/hate relationship of Hades and Sophia. Hades was a very hard character to like even when he wasn’t full of hate. He seemed to hate everyone including his wife and best friend. Wasn’t a fan of Hades sleeping with other women after professing his love for his wife and wasn’t the whole point of this series that Maddox was hard to get rid of? I was actually a little disappointed how easily he was. I am a big fan of Penelope Sky. I have read all of her other books and really loved some of her other guys such as Bones and Bosco. This is the first series I have given a negative review and hope her future books are better with better characters.

A total page turner! Im so happy to finally read the conclusion of Sofia and Hades! Without giving anything away a decent amount of this book you want to reach into the book and smack some sense into Hades lol Hes stuck working with Maddox and life sucks for him. As the story unfurls you cant get enough. You wont be able to put it down until the end… and then youll want to pick up the next book to hear how Damiens story starts. Love. Love. Love. Nothing Id rather have to get me through COVID-19 quarantine.

Hades, got on my last nerves, the way he let Maddox played him like a puppet. He keep saying he couldn’t kill Maddox, because he was so sure if he tried he’ll fail. So instead he became Maddox’s, Bitch! All he had to do was come up with a plan with his brother Ash, and his friend Damien. But no he just rather wallow in self pity. I almost cried when he tried to kill himself because at that time I felt sorry for him. But Sofia called and saved him from that fate. But as usual it took a woman to do a man’s job. Maddox finally admitted that he was gay and he wanted Hades. I believe he would have succeeded in making Hades, his Bitch. He would have raped him multiple times if Sofia, hadn’t taken the situation in hand and handled her business, and took Maddox out! Way to go Sofia. She took care of him good. He never saw that coming with his cocky psycho ass. I just wished that the author(Penelope Sky) would have given a little details background about Maddox, when he told Hades, that he killed his own mother. Maybe that would have given a little insight to his craziness. Why he was such a cold hearted sociopath. But I ‘m glad he’s no longer in the picture to torment Sofia and Hades. Now that Hades saw the gypsy again, he no longer love Sofia, after what she just did to ensure their future. Now it’s her turn to earn his love. I cannot believe the hell they both went through to finally be together as a family with their beautiful son Andrew. Now I just wish that Hades will forgive Damien. He’s hurting so much since he and Hades are no longer best friends. Will Hades brother, Ash, gets his own story?! Now that Damien story will be told. Will he finally find the peace and love he craves? I cannot wait to start reading “First”.
