Craving Lucy (Lucy & Harris #2)

Craving Lucy was the second book in the Lucy & Harris series by Terri Anne Browning. The series focused on Lucy Thornton, the oldest daughter of Demons Wings drummer and Harris Cutter, the oldest son of OtherWorlds drummer. The series was a spinoff from Brownings Rocker series.

Craving Lucy was a novella and ended on a cliffhanger. Im not a fan of cliffhangers; however, the author was clear upfront on what to expect; therefore, the choice to continue was mine. I enjoyed the progression of the story but desired more substance. It was a good buildup to the relationship, but not much depth and could have been accomplished easily in a full novel. Thankfully at the time of this review, the book was free; otherwise, I recommend to the author creating a box set for the entire series as one purchase.

As to the story, I enjoyed it up until the cliff hanger. I could see it (or something like it) coming a mile away, so I wasnt surprised, but I had hoped for something different. It was written fine, just not my preference for the direction. It does; however, set the stage for other character stories once this series is complete.

So now onto the next installment of the series, Rocking Kin.

So I’m not normally a reviewer, but I was completely shocked that people are giving this book 4 and 5 stars. So I felt I had to speak my piece about this book. First let me say I am a HUGE fan of Terri Anne Browning, the Rocker Series being in my top 5 as well as the Angel’s Halo Series, so it literally pains me to write such a poor review. With that said, I STRONGLY disliked this book to that point that I wish I could unread what I’ve read and just forget it ever existed. I’m very disappointed with the direction the author took this book. Having Harris have sex (drugged or not) with Tessa and then have Tessa send videos of it to Lucy, is terrible. Completely just ruined this series for me. I’m all for a little drama in my books and even a good cliffhanger but this particular storyline just upsets me. I mean has Lucy not been through enough!!!!! In fairness to the author I do see where this is going, he was drugged and doesn’t remember it, not his fault, but Lucy can never unsee what she saw on those videos and speaking from experience it’s not something that you easily get over. It’s something that lingers, festers and has the potential to take what should have been a great story about true love and ruin it. Perhaps it’s just me, but this relationship feels ruined and tarnished to me now. At this point I honestly wish the author would have just kept these 2 characters as best friends then to put them together just to rip them apart this way. And now we have to wait a full year for the conclusion, not okay! I honestly can’t see how anyone who read this is happy about that. Reading this book has actually put me on the fence about whether I want to continue reading this series in fear that the author will continue to ruin my other favorite couples.
This is all just my opinion, clearly some people read this and loved it. I may not understand how that’s possible, but to each their own. For me I’m upset and unhappy with this book. It would take a miracle storyline of Tessa having photoshopped Harris into the video (which is unfortunately not believable) for me to change my feelings on this.

I have waited for Lucys story since we first met her in The Rocker That Savors Me. Over the years, she has been through a lot and being the daughter of a famous musician is a stress within itself. But Lucy was lucky, she had a best friend who she could rely on and could relate to her in a lot of ways. Harris was her person until she hit puberty and her feelings for him started to change. Fast forward a few years later and Lucy is now 17 and Harris is a successful club owner. And things have changed, but once Lucy finally stopped hiding and reconnected with Harris it seemed that they were on their way to a happily ever after. Or so it seemed…

In Catching Lucy, it took me some time to understand Lucy and some of the things she did. In Craving Lucy, she really worried me. I kept feeling like she was hiding something and I was afraid of what was going to happen.

Harris has grown up to be the man I always thought he would be. He is strong, determined, loyal, and kind-hearted. It is clear that he is in love with Lucy. And while Lucy seems to still be dealing with past unresolved issues, she is in love with Harris too. But what will happen when a horrific event rocks them to their core.

I am a huge fan of this author. I have read every book she has written and loved them all LOVED. I would recommend them to my friends. And I love Harris and Lucy and obvuiously I knew something bad would happen so the major book would be in 2016 but this I couldn’t even imagine. So I am about the spoil the cliff hanger and the reason is I think this book should have had a clearer warning. While I enjoyed most of the book, I hated the beginning of Harris disapearing on Lucy, then he comes back and it was great. The birthday was great but and here is the spoiler but I think it needs to warned, someone gets raped. I had no warning and I positively hated this and in fact I can’t believe the author went there with the rape. This is a character I watched grow up, and to see them raped and then video taped it discusted me. I can’t even believe the author went there. A million other ways she could have gone to break Lucy and Harris apart but this one is something I could not stomache and I felt there really should be a warning.

Lucy & Harriss romance continue in Craving Lucy. Harris is determined to wait to be with Lucy until she is 18. But its becoming harder and harder for him to resist.

Reading Catching Lucy you know that there are problematic people in Harris’ life that want to see him fail. It was a little predicable and I could see it coming a mile off.

As I’ve said before I love Terri and her books rock, but unfortunately this wasn’t my favorite in the series. In saying that I will continue with the series as I do want to know what happens with them
