Dawn is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the first chapter of the Xenogenesis novel series. The book is written by Octavia E. Butler. She was a renowned American author who also received Hugo and Nebula awards. She earned a god name for herself in the science fiction and fantasy domain with novels as god as Parable of the Sower. Moreover, Kindred is another beautiful and gripping novel from Octavia that you cannot afford to miss out on.
Dawn is narrated by Aldrich Barrett. It was a stellar performance with quite a good distinction between characters. Aldrich also paced this book quite well which was rightly aligned with the plot of this novel.

A world that is destructed by a nuclear war has got the entire humanity on the brink of extinction. This was the time when the aliens made contact with mankind as well. They rescued the humans which they could while keeping the majority of the survivors in the suspended type of animation. On the other side, the aliens started up with the slow and steady process of rehabilitating the planet.
When Lilith Iyapo gets awakened then she discovered that she is the chosen one for reviving all of her fellow human beings. She had to do that in smaller groups of people by first ensuring they all meet with the highly terrifying aliens. They would then be trained so that they could survive right in the wilderness which this planet has become.

This one is an unusual but very gripping and thrilling tale of alien invasion during post-apocalyptic times. You will have a great time with the characters of this book which were made even special in the soothing voice of Aldrich Barrett.
