I love this series and especially Az/Samantha! There was not as much knock down drag out action until the end, but when it came it was heart pounding and rapid page turning. The story once again brought us together with Sam, Wyatt and Gregory as the main characters. Evil and good Angels, sorcerers, elves, demons, werewolves and humans either trying to kill Sam or some of her demon friends. Poor Wyatt now has two crazy sisters, each one with their own elf or demon troubles! Gregory, there one minute and then missing in action. All Sam wants is a beer and Wyatt, but none of the bad guys will cooperate! There was so much laughter, Sam can say and think the most hilarious stuff. I found myself laughing and tears running down my face. I even highlight the funniest stuff! I was disappointed at the end, but I have faith Debra Dunbar will make Sam existence great in the future. The question is with who and how long will it take??

Audiobook Devil’s Paw by Debra Dunbar
My least favorite book so far. The beginning was rough to get into. Sam was trying to deal with with fall out of everything without any support from the people that are pushing her into difficult situations (Wyatt and Gregory especially). It’s annoying how Gregory keeps pushing Sam without trying to understand the current situation in Hel or what the demons are actually like.
After about 20% of the book we hit a section dealing more with just Sam’s personal life rather than the fallout from her being Iblis. That was better. By the time that part was over we were well into the plot and that was very entertaining. I loved the trip up to Alaska especially. The ending when she finally found the bad guys fell apart on me.

I keep enjoying watching Sam’s moral transformations. She is still a demon of course but I love he growing humanity and her relationship with he ever expanding family. It seems Sam really can’t keep herself from collecting all sort of misfits. Wyatt’s “birthday present” was adorable.
Though I really am starting to be annoyed by his continuous presence in the book. I get it, he was necessary for Sam’s character developing in the beginning, but since than he turned into sort of pointless third wheel. So I was grateful of more on page Gregory. Though I would see more growth on his side too very soon. In overall I enjoyed the book a lot, and with this uneasy ending, I’m glad I don’t need to wait a year for the next one.

Far more emotional than the previous books, I may have experienced goosebumps and might have even had a tear form. Especially at the end, which I may wholeheartedly say was crap. Good crap, but crappy nonetheless.
By the end of the last book, I was hoping for more Gregory and I definitely got it with this one. Good old Ancient Revered One is turning some new tricks, so to speak. He cashed in his favors in a most angelic way, but he proved there may be some sin underneath all that glory. When you think of the words “badass” and “angel”, never are they used together. With one singular exception – Gregory. And now I am left with wanting even MORE Gregory (and Gregory and Sam together, especially since he clearly listened to her speech about looking “completely human” at the airport.)
I was also rather surprised at Sam’s behavior. Soup kitchens? Sam? Taking Boomer to the old folks home? Sam Martin, are you sure? Our little imp isn’t seeming so demonic these days. She blames it on pleasing Wyatt, but underneath all that gruff, Sam has a heart. Her chaotic antics have almost ceased, which is a huge indicator that she is slowly changing her ways. I am also furious at her for signing that paper. Nothing good can come of that, especially since she was already warned by a certain powerful someone not to sign that particular piece of paper.
Very anxious to move on to the next one. There were several revelations made that make me think one way or another, our Sam is headed for some trouble. Well, more trouble than usual because this sort is huge trouble. Damn you Gregory for opening your mouth on that matter. And damn you Sam for never listening.
