Invasion is the fourth book in the Warrior Chronicles. It picks up after Shanti and Cayan have exited the trials and are recuperating with the troops in the Shadow Lands. They dont get much of a rest because they soon discover that the Hunter has captured the Westwood Lands. Shanti and Cayan quickly depart to rescue the town and prepare for the final showdown against the Hunter. I really enjoyed this book, as I have all the books in this series. I liked watching how all the teams slowly converged on the Westwood Lands for the battle with the Graygual. Shanti and Cayan are awesome, especially since they have joined. I loved how the women of Westwood handled the occupation and rose to the occasion. I like this series and am already moving on to the next one.

Shadow Lands (The Warrior Chronicles #3) audiobook in series The Warrior Chronicles

5 Stars… This read is action packed with suspenseful, nail biting moments… We watch as our beloved Shanti and Cayan battle with the feared Hunter in order to save their city… As the pending battle looms, we see Shanti\’s people begin to gravitate towards her seeking a much anticipated reunion as well as the Shadow people fighting their way to join forces with their allies… We see many of the secondary characters grow into their roles as warriors, spies, and healers, but most of all we see the women of Cayan\’s city shift from meek to fearless and fierce as they manipulate and control the enemy… I truly enjoyed getting to know these extraordinary women and watch them demonstrate their strengths and abilities protecting their people… As the sure to be climactic ending draws near, we are further entrenched with these unique and fascinating characters in their quest for justice and freedom… Highly anticipating the next read!:)

Audiobook Shadow Lands (The Warrior Chronicles #3) by K.F. Breene

The first books of this authors that I read was The Darkness series, which I absolutely adore! I then moved on to this series and love it just as much! She\’s an amazing writer who weaves exciting, action packed stories that have great characters that you fall in love with, a little romance, a touch of sadness and some laugh out loud dialogue sprinkled throughout! This series picks up after the battle at the Shadow Lands. Our main characters and their trusty crew make their way home towards a battle they know is waiting for them. I don\’t want to say more then that bc It\’ll give away the story. Just know that we meet some new characters that I already like & can\’t wait to see develop, there\’s the action & struggles we\’ve come to know in this series, along with the always hysterical antics of Sanders and my absolute favorite Honor Guard who keep getting better & better! Wait until you see what the women of the city who\’ve taught Ruisa & the orphans the tricks passed down from their mothers & grandmothers have in store for the enemy! I really hope we see more of the orphans, especially the little one Shanti grew attached to very quickly, in the next book. (And a nudge for the author if she reads this review): I really hope at the very end of this series, the happy ending I expect will include him being adopted by Shanti & Cayan!…pretty please??!! (Wink wink!) My only complaint is that I\’ve read it too fast….again….and now have to wait a few months for the next book. Honestly, don\’t hesitate to start this series and The Darkness Series. They\’re awesome!!… Prices really good or free on Kindle Unlimited. Just get them. You won\’t be sorry!!

Audio Shadow Lands (The Warrior Chronicles #3) narrated by Caitlin Davies

This book was one great battle and a roller coaster of emotions. There is a lot of violence in this book, which is to be expected in a series about warriors defending their homes and the lives of their loved ones. All the main characters are further developed and we meet some new ones, and some highly anticipated ones. They do not disappoint. Their selfless sacrifices are heart melting. Shanti is little less amazing in this book, however, the Captain\’s and Shanti\’s people are absolutely magnificent. Shanti\’s horse and some other animals are constant source of entertainment. Shanti is going through a period pf despair due to such a prolonged struggle with no end in sight, but she seems to be snapping out of it slowly. I hope she will be back to her old fantastic self in the next book. There are some surprises., which I will not reveal, but I will mention the unexpected faction of insurgents. I immediately started reading the next book, which is nearing to the end of the series. I was under the impression that the book five would be the last one, but I recently found out that the sixth and final book is in the making. All the characters and the world and the story are so gripping, I drown in it every time I read. It is difficult to stop reading this series. I get translated into the world and become an active observer. I really love this series and I will be so sad when it comes to an end. I highly recommend it. Reading order is: Forged in Blood (The Warrior Chronicles, #0.5) – although I would suggest reading this one after at least 2 books, Chosen (The Warrior Chronicles #1), Hunted (The Warrior Chronicles, #2), Shadow Lands (The Warrior Chronicles #3), Invasion (The Warrior Chronicles #4), Siege (The Warrior Chronicles, #5).

This was just as awesome as the last instalment in what has become one of my favourite fantasy series. I absolutely adore Shanti, she is a very strong heroine, flaws and all. This time round we got to see the perspective of some of the other players in the lead up of events which will results in a battle to end all battles. We also saw another side to Cayan\’s city, that of the women and they absolutely shone! I feel they have an important part to play in the future and I am so glad to be along for this! Cayan and Shanti\’s relationship, despite not being the focus of this story, evolved a little and it was interesting to see how they reacted to each other with the challenges presented to them. We also got introduced to some of the Shumas, Shanti\’s people and and when they finally all met up some of the interactions were hilarious. As much as this book made me laugh out loud, gasp at times and have my heart in my throat for some of the battles, I also cried – yes real tears! This book pulled me in in every way, absorbing me totally and felt totally there with all these immensely wonderful characters. A shining star of a book.
