We finally get August’s story and met the man behind the legend . We fined out the history and pain that made him the musical genius that he is . We meet Cassie a photographer that August want to go on tour with Darkest Days as the band personal photographer . August can read her like a book and is determined to bring out the best in her photographs and her. We also find out that August has a secret he has been keeping from the band . I loved this book it has everything you expect from a Darkest Days story . As someone who loves rock music I do wish I could actually go to a concert by them . After reading all the stories you will fall in love with them . Each one touches on a subject that needs to be discussed as it is relevant in the here and now . Athena Wright is a rock star when it comes to writing about them . I recommend all the books in this series and Feral Silence . They are exceptional stories that will take you to a world few get to experience .

August got his story and it surprised me. A paragon virtuoso can have their own problems. Cassie was the perfect foil for him. She is her own type of artistic genius just learning to become more of who she is. August was the perfect person to teach her how to be more than she thought she was.

I have been looking forward to August’s story since his appearance in Noah’s story. I enjoyed getting to know more of August and his demons through the eyes of the girl falling for him. Cassie, for me, was a very relatable and I enjoyed seeing her grow and change throughout the story.

Of all the members of Darkest Days, August has been my favorite from the beginning. Beneath the surface of his tightly wound control, I knew there would be such pain and secrets. I love August even more after this story.

Cassie was the perfect match to August. She saw through his lies, helped him with his demons and saw him through his darkest days.

I can’t wait to see more of both of them in the next story

Pure fantasy with great writing. The book can be read alone but goes great with the rest of the series. I am eagerly awaiting the next book.
