Dresden always returns to the scene with more improvement in his intellect and powers. He was born to be a magician but he never hoped of such fame in his lifetime. Being the only wizard in Chicago he has to deal with all the supernatural happenings in the town. We have seen in the past that the police needed his help again and again. Now the department has permanently hired him because the supernatural incidents have increased to an enormous rate over the year. Being a Warden Harry keeps an eye on every happening in the town. Jim Butcher shows that Harry is not scared of the different happenings now; he knows what he has to do under different circumstances.

Harry along with his dog and the talking skull can outwit anyone if the time is right for him. It is a Malevolent of which James Marsters narrates about in the eighth book. The monster feeds on the fears of mankind and destroying human life is just fun for him. Dresden has to stop this phenomenon before there is no one left to save.
The tone of the author resembles Peace Talks and Storm Front but in Jim Butcher’s works, nothing is similar. The author tries to come up with something new all the time for the fans that have been following him for decades. Nothing can be found common in his novels except the characters that have been ruling the hearts of the people for many years. Also, the author provides the people time to cheer and fear in his novels which keep the spice alive in all situations.
