This book sets up the world for a great series. I almost didn\’t buy it because of the reviews about the narrator. While I admit that I found his cadence tough to get used to, the rest of his reading including accents, voices etc was well done. After over 1500 audio books he is by no means the worst reader I have endured and if he fixed his cadence he could be very good.

Had trouble with the rather pedantic reader. Set to a higher speed, and it improves. This is a slow story. No flash, good character development, occasional surprise. And interesting though not fascinating story. I will buy the next one in the series.

If you can read pass the opening (badly written) boy meets girl part, the rest opens up to a world of great storytelling and writing!

I don\’t understand the complaints on the narrator. He did a good job! Believe me. I\’ve listened to over 420 audio books and omg! There are bad narrators. This man isn\’t!! He doesn\’t ruin the story. I almost didn\’t buy the book because of the complaints on him but the books got such wonderful reviews. I took a chance. I\’m so glad I did. Don\’t judge a book by the reviews of just the narrator! I hope he continues thru the series! I\’m buying the series and off on a new adventure! Renée ?
