Another really great book in the Lucy & Harris series. McKinley Montez just moved to California to live with her father who is an actor/director and his wife and her stepsisters. Her mother just died from cancer and she made a promise to her mother that she would live her final year of high school with them. She doesn’t really know her biological father, he left years ago and she’s had her Stepfather Carter and her stepsiblings Angie and Caleb as her father for 13 years. They were her real family so she wasn’t just losing her mother but the rest of her real family too. There she sees the guys she really loved and who broke her heart when he left Jace St. Charles.

McKinley goes by Kin by the people that love and care about her. She’s brokenhearted to lose her mother and then the rest of her family too moving from Virginia to California. She doesn’t know how she’s going to survive. Her stepmother Jillian is a fake and fony and just wants attention and special treatment for herself and her daughters. Especially her oldest daughter Georgia is who is the same age as Kin. She’s miserable and feels alone at their home but she made a promise and she won’t break it. Luckily she meets Lucy Thornton and they become the best of friends. Lucy is a wonderful friend and she would do anything for Kin. Through Lucy, she sees Jace again when they go to Harris’ club and every Thursday his band Tainted Knights. He broke her heart horribly by leaving while her mother was dying of cancer. He never tried to contact her again after he left and that hurt even more. She’s got so much going on and she’s miserable but Lucy makes her life a little better and going to Harris’ club helps as well.

Jace has moved to California for his band but he misses Kin like crazy. So when he sees her again and she’s in California he wants to get another chance. He won’t give up and tries to call her and text her all the time even though she ignores it and doesn’t respond. He just wants to prove to her that he knows he made a mistake and would never make it again. He and his sister Kassa had a pretty rough childhood until their parents just left them. But they got a wonderful second chance when Alicia St. Charles adopted them both. She was originally just wanting to adopt the little girl but she saw how much Jace loved her and she adopted them both. A year later, her nephew moved in with him and Gray Knight was horrible with Jace but he was good with Kassa. He competed with Jace for everything. They have the band together but he still doesn’t really care for Gray and vice versa. He loves his family but he loves Kin so much and will do anything to prove to her that he cares about her.

Definitely worth reading. Looking for the next book in the series Un-shattering Lucy.

Rocking Kin was the third book in the Lucy & Harris series by Terri Anne Browning. We met Kin previously as Lucys best friend while a senior in high school and Jace was Harris friend and the lead singer for Tainted Knights.

Admittedly, I was a little confused why this was part of the Lucy & Harris series because they totally deserved their own book. However, Brownings timeline of the story aligned with the previous books in the series, filling in some gaps with Jace and Kims POV and then provided the bridge between books two and four. I enjoyed the story and the characters, but I craved more depth and dimension. Otherwise, it was a great story and I cant wait to hear more while completing Lucy and Harris journey. Onward to Un-shattering Lucy!

Audiobook Rocking Kin (Lucy & Harris #3) by Terri Anne Browning

In this book we get McKinley Montez and Jace St. Charles. Kin and Jace knew each other in the past but Jace came to California to make something of the Tainted Knights and Kin followed after her mother’s death. When her mother is told she had only a short time to live she make Kin promise that she will go to California and spend time with her father. The problem with this is her father is never around and after she gets a new friend at school her step-mother wants to use them both to boost her and her daughters fame. The problem is her new friend is Lucy Thornton and neither of them are looking to increase their exposure in the tabloids. When she comes with Lucy to First Bass and sees Jace all her old feelings come back both the good and the bad. What happens if she gives Jace a second chance will he break her heart again or will they finally get a HEA?

Jace knew that he left the best thing he would ever have back on the East Coast but he had to make a choice between his girl and his music. Now that she is in California he is determined to show her that even though he made a mistake leaving her behind he will never do it again if she will just give him a second chance. Can he get her to give him that chance though or will he be doomed to want only one woman and never have her?

This is a great story about finding love and fighting to make sure that you will never loose it. It also shows that no matter what the promise is that you make to someone the one you make to yourself is the most important one of all. There are some twists and turns in this book that I really want to tell you about but don’t want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this is a must read that I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

Audio Rocking Kin (Lucy & Harris #3) narrated by Alexander Cendese Angel Goethals

After the ending in Craving Lucy and knowing that there was going to be a wait for the conclusion of Lucy and Harriss story, I was a little disappointed. While I was interested in getting to know Kin and Jace, I was just too worried about Harris to truly enjoy this book in the beginning. But Jace St. Charles and Kin are such a cute couple, you cant help but fall in love with them.

It is clear from the prior books in this series that these two have a history. Well now we get to learn about what happened between them in the past and if Jace is able to work his way back into Kins heart.

While this is completely Kin and Jaces story, we do get a glance into where Lucy and Harriss story is heading. And based on the ending, I am really hoping that we get to revisit Kin and Jace in the Tainted Knights series.

Ah another great installment. I just love Terri Anne Browning and her rocker stories. I just want more and more:)

The story centers around Kin and Jace who have a history together from their younger days. A heartbreaking event leaves Kin to live with her father and the ugly stepmother, in Malibu. I love a female lead like Kin, shes as strong as they come and it was so nice reading her story. I know this novella was focused on Jace and Kin, but I cannot wait to get the rest of Lucy and Harriss story. My heart shattered for them both!
