The Hot One (One Love #3)

This story is about Delaney and Tyler. There were high school lover and had big plans to go to law school together. Tyler broke things off with his crappy I can’t juggle you and my career crap. This broke Delaney’s heart and she has never been the same since. After a really long time they bump into each other and things don’t really go well but let’s be honest it’s not goin to be great when you haven’t seen the guy you luvd and got dumped by is it. Delaney has trust issues not just over Tyler leaving her but her family life isn’t all that great either. But once Tyler sees Delaney again he’s knows straight away that he regrets ever dumping the luv of his life.

These are smoking hot to together the sexual tension is so strong between them. But Delaney doesn’t make things easy for him. She mite of thought about him a lot over the years but she doesn’t think she can go back to him. He really hurt her and she isn’t the same girls anymore. A lot things have changed and it the same for Tyler. What if they don’t fit together like they once did. There is only one way to find out. Tyler might just have to work harder than ever to get back his girl.

I enjoyed this book it was just what I was in the mood for. I luv second chance romances. I get hooked into the story start away I luv the chase. I story is hot funny sweet with not much drama. But that’s what I wanted. I really liked the characters in this book and I looking forward to reading more from the other characters. I really liked Delaney’s best friends they were so funny throughout this book. I would recommend this book if you were looking for romcom and something lighter with a some hotness read it. I ‘ve not read this author in a really long time I m so glad I finally got around to reading her again. I m looking forward to read more of her books.

Ok, so technically this is the third book in a sort of companion / spin-off-ish series of another Lauren Blakely’s series, the first one being Big rock, but as with all of her other stories, this one works perfectly well as a standalone 🙂 yes, familiar characters make appearances here and there, and yes, it is more enjoyable when you have some previous knowledge about them or their stories, but you always get enough informations to really enjoy the book you are currently reading and to understand all the connections between different people 🙂 ok, now that we have this little explanation out of the way, let me tell you a little bit more about our main couple and their story, before diving into my thoughts and opinions about this novel 🙂

Both Tyler and Delaney made appearances in the previous books in this series, so I knew a little bit more about them… Tyles is this hotshot lawyer and Delaney owns a SPA… and I actually liked both of them as secondary characters… so when I heard they will have their own story, I was definitely curious… what’s more interesting, they actually have a history between them… they were a couple during college… up until Tyler broke up with her… now, after a chance encounter in the city about eight years later, he realizes that there is still something there between them, and he’s determined to get her back… that’s basically all I can say to you about this story without spoiling what comes next 🙂 so instead of concentrating on all the details I can’t share with you, let’s jump into the good parts that I can actually talk about 🙂

First of all, I gave this story 4,5 stars… there was nothing particularly wrong with it, but simply because of my personal preferences, I am not a fan of those second chance romances, when the main couple used to be together and they reunite after some time has passed… it usually annoy me to no end, so the fact I actually really enjoyed this one to give it this rating is saying a lot about how amazing writer Lauren Blakely is 🙂 to be honest, she quickly becomes one of my go-to authors when I am looking for a fun and sexy contemporary romance with interesting characters that act like actual adults, talking with each other, without stupid missunderstandings and long lasting conflicts 🙂 and this one was no exception… she has just such an amazing and entertaining writing style 🙂 I can appreciate it, even though I actually listened to the audiobook version… by the way, the narrators are awesome, they really made the characters and the story come alive 🙂 so even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of the actual relationship between our main couple in general, I’m sure that most of you will absolutely love it 🙂 so I highly recommend you guys to check out this book, and this author, and discover all the awesomeness that are Lauren Blakely stories 🙂

A juggler, a masseuse and a polydactyl cat walk into a bar . . . .

Well, no, not really only the juggler and masseuse walk into the bar, both with expectations of their own about the other. The juggler, aka Tyler Nichols is hoping to redeem himself in the eyes and heart of the lovely masseuse, aka Delaney Stewart. Delaney just wants to clear the air so she can move on with her life.

Eight years ago, the egotistical and ambitious Tyler was forced to make a decision about his life and career. In love with fellow undergrad, Delaney, Tyler opts to grab his chance at the golden ring, leaving Delaney out in the cold. And I mean cold Tyler breaks with Delaney in a manner that can only be described as the dreaded and cruel ghosting.

Life moves on and eight years later, Tyler is an entertainment lawyer in the Big Apple, and Delaney is the owner of the Nirvana Spa, also in the Big Apple. By chance, their paths cross one day when Tyler, accompanied by his cutie-pie niece, Carly, are observing a juggler perform in Central Park. Challenged by Carly to perform his own juggling act, Tyler has his balls in the air just as the exquisite Delaney jogs by hehe. Each acknowledge the other, and old wounds that never healed are once again front and center.

Does Tyler deserve a second chance? Not in my version, but Delaney doesnt have much choice to hear him out when the arrogant attorney shows up in her spa buck naked. (Yes, the way to a womans heart is to walk around advertising your, er, juggling talents in her place of business.) Credit Delaney with having a heart. She eventually gives him the opportunity to plead his case over cocktails, hence, they walk into a bar . . . .

The Hot One is the latest offering from the Queen of Witty Rom Com, Lauren Blakely. It is a standalone novel, but cameo appearances are made by characters introduced in Blakelys earlier novels (Mr. O, The Big Rock et al). As with all of author Blakelys books, theyre well written, loaded with delicious characters, and always manage to tickle the funny bone while tingling the naughty bits.

Well done, Lauren Blakely!

(Oh, and for the cat lovers, yes, the polydactyl feline comes into play.)

If you are looking for a sexy, sweet, low angst and fun read, then this is the book for you.
Tyler and Delaney were College sweethearts and both had their future planned out, thinking they would pursue careers as lawyers. But Tyler broke her heart and plans changed. Eight years later they meet again and this time Tyler wants the love of his life back.
Sweet, easy read and lots of passion.

Great characters – the last few books by Lauren Blakely have been freaking brilliant, I have loved every one of them and would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Strong male and female characters excellent storylines and super HOT romances. What more could a girl ask for.
