The holiday season starts when I receive Richard Paul Evans Christmas book. Every year is a new story that captures your heart, and brings new characters to life. Their lives sometimes parallel our own, and we can relate to their circumstances.
Beautifully written, the book could be read in one sitting, but I like to savor each chapter, and immerse myself in the story.
This years book is The Noel Letters, and the reader is swept up in the life of an editor named Noel, born on Christmas Day. There are a few surprises in the book that arent expected, making the story even more meaningful.
The best part of the book is the dialogue between characters. That is the hardest part of writing, I think, and RPE has a gift with dialogue. It moves the story along, and tells it at the same time. Its like youre there listening, but you cant be seen. I love that.
Treat yourself and buy a copy today. Youll soon be getting his other books, too. They are that good.
Happy reading!

I stayed with the story because I was curious how it would end but this was not one of my favorites. For over 65% of the book, it seemed like I was reading a daily account of Noel’s doings. I enjoyed when she began to deal with her hurt and began to heal. I think the frustrating part for me was this. When she began to receive the letters, she would read them but the letters did not influence or seem to impact her with any aha moments. In a few of the letters, I was unclear what the message meant. This book was a challenge to read until the end and didn’t have the meaningful impact that Richard’s other books have had.

Audiobook The Noel Letters (The Noel Collection #4) by Richard Paul Evans

What an amazing story. Ive always love Richard Paul Evans books but this one has outdone all of them. I was so engrossed I felt the emotions, heartache and pain of Noel. But I also felt her healing, peace and love so she could forgive. I was so wrapped up in the story I spoke out loud to give her guidance and to weep. I loved the settings, descriptions of everything, characters and watching them grow. This is definitely a must-read. It is one of the most honest, fresh, sensitive, captivating story.

Audio The Noel Letters (The Noel Collection #4) narrated by Helene Maksoud

A good way into the book I decided I was going to give it three stars. Not because the story wasnt good, but because it lacked emotion. Then I realized that was intended, the character lacked emotion because of her past.

Then I read on and of course things improved and I decided four stars were warranted because the story was getting better. Finally as the crux of the story was realized and the character bloomed with real emotion as she healed, I realized it was a five star book.

So you have it. Enjoy!

THE NOEL LETTERS, the fourth of Richard Paul Evanss Noel novels, shares the inspiration, brilliance and family complexity of the first three, and then goes beyond in its dramatic exploration of a family misunderstanding that emotionally separates a father and daughter. Noel Books father owned a store that epitomized the complexity and excitement of small-town book shops across the country before online buying replaced the cruising through stacks of books – history, politics, novels, both frightening and romantic. Through her prolific reading Noel acquired the skills to become a successful editor of bestselling authors at a New York publishing house. She believed that her father was responsible for the death of her mother in a car accident, and while he was loved by all at his store and community, Noel blocked him from her heart.

Learning he was on his death bed, Noel made the decision to visit him in the small Utah town where she grew up and re-explore her feelings. He passed before she arrived, but once there, she entered his world of staff and loving friends, even beginning a romance of her own. Mysteriously, she begins receiving beautifully written anonymous love letters that she believes are from the new beau. They touch her mind and heart, and she learns the true cause of her mothers death, and its consequences to others. Learning to face the truth about herself as Christmas approaches offers new potentials of creative explorations and self-love. Many of us, myself included, have mastered the art of preserving misunderstandings about our family. THE NOEL LETTERS offers a powerful and dramatic guide to seeking and accepting truth.
