Book was great because Patterson alone wrote book. The character of Alex Cross is strong. Details are important , not just to fill space.

Five stars? Not enough! James Patterson’s, The People vs Alex Cross moves along at a steady pace. After all the years Alex Cross has placed his life and family in danger, and living through it, he is being prosecuted for two counts of murder and one attempted. Having spent many hours in my life time as an inspector, and in court, reading this excellent book, I wonder just where in the devil did this Judge, and U. S. Department of Justice prosecutor, are going, it is just unreal! Every time Alex’s defense attorney objects, she is over rolled. When you read this great book, you’ll understand, perhaps, why I was astounded! Alex continues to help his long time partner and friend, Sampson. Alex is on administrative leave from the Metro Police, DC, and is not to assist anyone on investigations. But he does and gets a bit in trouble for his efforts. Not only from the department, but also from his boss, Chief Stone, his wife. Sampson current partner is in training but feels she knows enough to act on her own. There is someone who is kidnapping blondes and video tapping cruel punishments of them. Six are missing, and it appears from the thumb drives, they are murdered after cruel treatment. I am not going to write in this review what happens at the end of the trial. Mixed in with the trial, Alex’s family is progressing along in sports. This is an adventure with-in it’s self. You won’t be sorry you purchased this great book by, James Patterson, The People vs. Alex Cross. Rated, all ages. No strong language or sexual descriptions. DP. Castro Valley, CA.

Another great Alex Cross mystery. Two storylines here. Lots of forensic computer events. A super enticing read. Highly recommend this book!

The People vs. Alex Cross audio narrated by Taye Diggs

Now let me start this review by stating that I’ve currently read each entry in the Alex Cross series and have come to love the character over time. Some entries tend to be weaker than others but overall, I’ve enjoyed most of them. While this one wasn’t my favorite, I liked seeing a more vulnerable Alex Cross. Being on trial has caused Cross to question whether he wants to continue in the police field or go back to full time counseling. Both have their pros and cons for him. Throughout the trial, you will question, along with Alex, as to whether or not he truly is guilty. Was his mind playing tricks on him? Did he shoot those people in cold blood or was it a good shoot? Without spoiling anything for the reader, I will just tell you that this one does not read like the typical Cross novel and I liked that. This novel shows Cross taking an honest look at himself and having to decide what his future is going to be career wise, and aside from that… will he serve time if the jury finds him guilty?

The book has multiple, intertwined plots which keep the readers interest.

Alex Cross is on trial for illegally discharging his weapon at unarmed suspects. While the trial takes place, Dr. Cross is also involved in finding and bringing down a serial killer who likes to prey on blondes. The book is well written, has the usual Alex Cross main characters, along with some new faces. The author throws in some very nice twists and turns, as well.

I found sections too wordy in areas. Im not crazy for all the family members getting involved in the book as much as they do. There are many authors who give a personal side of the protagonist without devoting chapters to family affairs. It seems later Cross books contain more and more of family matters. I just skim those short chapters.

What I found particularly annoying and ridiculous is a major revelation during the trial which is coined by Crosss nine year old son. Professionals in the field missed the possibility of this detail, yet a nine year old recognizes it? Please.
