Lee Child introduced Jack Reacher as a character who once had a busy life in the past but he got fed up with all of that. He has enemies looking for him but in disguise, he plans to keep his identity hidden for the rest of his life.
Going from one city to another and changing identities has kept him out of the reach of the agency and its enemies so far. He is fully aware that his cover will not remain helpful for him forever but he plans to go with it until it is not blown away.

One day a man comes to Jack Reacher or we say he reaches to him somehow and tries to talk about something. First of all, Jack is amazed at how the person was able to reach and recognize him but then he became more curious for the reason the investigator was there. Before the man could tell him anything he is found dead and Jack is stunned in disbelief.
Things that the man had in stock for Jack were so important that all of them had the poor guy killed in cold blood. Now Jack decides to go back to where he once belonged to investigate the purpose for which he was needed. Things have been building up in the agency in Jack’s absence and now they have gone out of control. There is a force that wants to kill Jack and wipe him out forever.
Die Trying was not personal rather Jack got trapped in a big conspiracy accidentally in that part. The current book is personal, Jack’s past comes to the scene and it is helpful for the audience to know what Jack has been doing in the past. Johnathan McClain has narrated the first four parts of the series including Running Blind and these parts are considered as the best according to many critics in terms of voice clarity. McClain devotes all his attention to the work on every occasion and never misses any line or word.
