This is the 12th book in the series but it is the second book about Mase and Reese. It wraps things up although a side character says some stuff that isn’t nice and they never address that, so that seemed unfinished. They don’t revisit Mase and Reese, except for a small cameo in Captain and Addy’s book, so I guess it will never get sorted out. You should definitely read this series in order if you want the full effect of all the couples, their stories, and connections. These are YA romances that read like soap operas or tell a novellas. They are a guilty pleasure for me but I have to be in the right mood for them. This is a full length book that is written well. I think Ms. Glines found an editor over time because her first few books in the series had noticeable mistakes that were distracting but this one was fine. I can understand from Mase and Reese’s story why she needed two books for this couple and I liked this book but a lot of the big issues had been revealed and sorted during the first book so this was more of Mase and Reese living together on his ranch in Texas and throwing in a couple of side characters to cause some drama. Mase is a sexy alpha male cowboy who loves Reese and all her curves especially her booty. Reese is finding her way in Texas, finding a job, getting settled, and dealing with Mase’s bratty cousin and Captain’s flirtations. There are plenty of steamy scenes and of course some drama thrown in for fun. This whole series is worth the read and the price. Enjoy!

When You\’re Back audiobook in series Rosemary Beach

After growing up with a cruel mother and abusive stepfather, the future is bright for Reese Ellis who just moved to Dallas in order to live Mase Colt Manning, who managed to piece her back together and give her back her confidence. Now she needs to move on and think about the future, despite the annoying presence of Mase\’s cousin Aida, and the dark and disturbing River Kipling, who imposes on her time on a daily basis. What I loved about this book: The hint of suspense What I felt needed improvement: The ever-repeating storyline and age-old intrigues The fact that all intrigues are rushed through The annoyingly naive and tartly female main character I am an unconditional pre-order auto-buy fan when it comes to Abbi Glines. She just knows how to write those lighthearted summery romance-is-bliss novels that take place in the south and either involve rock stars or cowboys. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by When You\’re Back , which is the conclusion to Mase and Reese\’s story. When I finished the book – which was way too short – I just kept thinking That\’s it? Really? – because honestly I\’m not quite sure where this book added value to the couple or the Rosemary Beach Series, apart from giving us a totally predictable Abbi Glines ending a la pregnancy and marriage proposal. Sorry for the spoiler, but it\’s Book #12 in the series, and so far each book had exactly this MO and ending, so you will have probably expected it. Just like Reese expects a proposal from Mase after just a couple of months of dating. Right. I did like the other books in the series, though, and this despite of the ever-repeating storyline, because the characters and the circumstances were always different and more intriguing. But When You\’re Back feels like a medley from the previous books in the series, only with different names. Plot wise, cowboy-guy falls for sweet, innocent and helpless girl with trust issues and protects her and. Nothing new here. I liked the fact that Abbi Glines tried to make this book more suspenseful by adding throwing yet another character in to the mix (Captain, Blaire\’s brother who we never heard about before – strange, eh?) and by connecting the story to a crime. Yet, most of the intrigues in the book were short-lived, or just plain boring because we\’ve been there and done that in the previous books (like the girl who has a crush on Mase and wants to break the couple – didn\’t that happen in Part 1 of Mase and Reese\’s story but with a different girl?). Also, the ending was way too rushed and the epilogue wasn\’t exactly satisfying. As an Abbi Glines fan, I am not giving up on next releases and really hope the next book in the series (or the new series due to be released in September) will be more innovative and intriguing. Last but not least, I hope the female main characters will be less naive than Reese, who really frustrated me in When You\’re Back .

Audiobook When You\’re Back by Abbi Glines

First off it seems that I have skipped one book as #10 is the beginning of this love story between Mase and Reese , but that is alright as you don\’t need to read Book #10 to understand the story. At the beginning of this novel , Reese has been spending some time with her newfound family due to the discovery of her birth father and getting to know her family and relatives and has decided to come home a little early to surprise her boyfriend Mase Colt-Manning who despite growing up on the ranch, he too has discovered that he has a different family also as his biological father is Kiro Manning from the band that Dean Finlay who is Rush\’s dad also is in. Confused yet ? Reese arrives home to learn that there is a new girl hanging around her boyfriend and she doesn\’t look happy to see her , in fact she is being treated like she is an interruption. The new girl turns out to be Aida – who is Mase\’s cousin – not by blood though and she has the hots for Mase and now that they are both old enough she is not going to let go of Mase quietly, as he should be hers. She has waited all these years and not going to let Reese swoop in and steal her Prince Charming. The thing is though that Mase sees Aida just as her cousin , the one he cares about. Will Mase\’s caring for Aida form a rift between him and Reese and willl Reese turn to newcomer Captain aka River Kipling – he is Blaire Finlay\’s brother as he seems to be hanging around Reese alot and acting flirtatious. As the book goes along, we learn more about Reese\’s background and her love for Mase but what happens when doubts start to form ? Will this be the point to push Reese over the edge and lose Mase for good or will the pair discover when left with the idea that they might lose one another – that they in fact can\’t live without each other ? I really enjoyed reading this book but I did hope with the ending that revealed her father and his intentions as it felt that the epilogue finished quite abruptly for my liking. Overall , however it was great to be reunited with the cast of the Rosemary Beach series as had been a while since I had read an Abbi Glines\’s novel. I am now looking forward to going back and catching up on the ones I have missed in the later part of the series.

Audio When You\’re Back narrated by Jennifer Bronstein

When You\’re Back is the sequel to When You\’re Gone where we see Mace and Reese\’s story come to a close. Reese and Mace are working on building their future together but when Reese\’s long lost father comes into the picture and Reese spends some time with her family in Chicago, they\’re apart once again. But it\’s nothing they haven\’t done before and soon enough, Reese arrives at Mace\’s ranch to live there. She can\’t wait to start building a life with him but Mace\’s so called cousin Aida seems to enjoy causing trouble for them. Mace is so happy that Reese is finally with him. He\’ll do anything to make her happy, even if that means helping her find a job. But what Mace doesn\’t expect is for his cousin to start causing problems for them and for one of Mace\’s work associates to start showing Reese attention. And even more, his real father Kiro Manning is causing trouble back in Rosemary Beach. All Mace wants it to start his life with Reese but it doesn\’t look like they\’ll catch a break any time soon…. When You\’re Back is an enjoyable read. I like both Reese and Mace and they\’re stories were entertaining enough to keep me interested. They\’re were a few twists that were a little predictable but still somewhat enjoyable. I really enjoyed getting to know Mace\’s family more and I\’m definitely looking for to having Major\’s story in my hands – I\’m predicting Major & Nan together but that would be highly entertaining! And of course it was great to be able to see some of my favourite characters from Rosemary Beach once again. But I do have one slight issue. Abbi Gines fast became one of my favourite author and even now after however many books she\’s wrote she\’s still a favourite, however, after the last couple of books I\’ve read of her\’s I\’m starting to find a pattern with the stories and they\’ve all started to mesh together because the characters, especially the male leads, recently all seem to have the same voice. It\’s hard to differ between them which is sad because I love them all. I like the alpha male personality however, they\’ve all just become so predictable it\’s hard to be surprised by anything they do and it\’s got to the point where I feel like I\’m reading the same story over and over again. This makes me sad. It really does because while I was reading When You\’re Back, it was hard to see Mace as Mace. Rush, Grant, Woods and Tripp all seemed to be there with me and again, it was hard to differ between them all. But I\’m not ready to give up on Abbi Glines as a writer. I\’m extremely excited to read Until Friday Night but I think I need to take a little break from reading the Rosemary Beach series and once the rest of the series is released, I\’ll definitely come back to it at that point.

Free audio When You\’re Back – in the audio player below

A continuation of Mase & Reese\’s story . Reese\’s real father turns up at her flat just as she\’s packing to go & live in Texas with Mase . He seems to be someone very wealthy ,& he wants to get to know his daughter , he also finds out a little about what happened to her as a child. Unfortunately there\’s a problem on the horizon for Reese & Mase , a woman called Aida who is Mase\’s cousin , who we learn is not a blood relative on account that she was adopted , & shes got her eye set on Mase so when Reese moves in with him she\’s not too happy and tries to drive a wedge between them . Reese also has an encounter with someone from her past ,her stepfather turns up after tracking her down . She learns that her mother has died & he tries to get Reese to leave with him but is stopped by the mysterious Captain who is the half brother of Blaire & it seems that he\’s some sort of vigilante as he murders the stepfather and leaves a card by the body with \”For My Liitle Girl \”written on it , hopefully we\’ll learn more about this in the next book . The ending is one that was expected but I think it should have gone on a little bit longer to tie up a few loose ends , at least we should have had the wedding . There is also an envelope that Reese\’s father sent & there was a mysterious card Inside the envelope which has the words \”For My Little Girl \” written on it which is the same thing that was on the one left by the body of her stepfather .
