Honestly didn’t enjoy this as much as the other TBC books, mainly for a few key reasons: (spoiler warning as usual)
1) The impostor’s confirmation to be Ashfur wasn’t exactly a revelation since it was already so obvious in the previous three books, heck, a youtuber guessed it was Ashfur back when Lost Stars just came out
2) Mothwing’s personality got completely butchered, especially the way she treats Shadowsight, it’s infuriating
3) Why tf did ThunderClan become Thunderclan while the other clans were still WindClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, SkyClan and StarClan it hurts my eyes
4) The cliffhanger doesn’t do that much either, the next book is literally called The Dark Forest, now the question of where Ashfur and Squirrelflight disappeared to doesn’t seem like that much of a question, does it?

SPOILERS
A bunch of my personal opinions

Okay, where do I start?
It was preeettyy obvious that Ashfur was the Imposter. For a while, I thought it was Hawkfrost, Darktail or maybe even Sol. But Ash was already at the top of that list. The romance was kinda cringe, but not as bad as Disney. One thing I didnt like was Mothwings attitude towards Shadowsight. Why the heck would you stroll into another Clan and then downgrade a medicine cat? Shadow is my second favorite medicine cat, right behind Jayfeather, whos still a snarky little jerk. I found the ghost ritual unnerving. The description eyes as black as holes and agonized yowling was PRETTY intense, but I enjoy it. I think the POV most fun to read is either Shadowsight or Rootspring. I would like to see some more ghosts in the future. Characters I find to be most appealing in this book:

1. Tree (Hes such a good father! The stuff he says gives me the warm and fuzzies)
2. Shadowsight (I can totally relate)
3. Rootspring (His ghost powers are awesome)
4. Puddleshine (He was definitely higher on my list until he agreed to downgrade Shadowsight…)
5. Bristlefrost (I dont really like Bristlefrost for some reason.)
6. Lionblaze (I remember Lionblaze used to be much more of a level-headed cat in the past.)
7. Mothwing (Gosh darn it)
8. Flipclaw (He leeeefffttt his CLAAAN)
9. Thornclaw (I think that was his name? The cat who decided to leave the clan in the first place)
10. Ashfur (Welp, here ya go Ashfur. A place on this list.)

I have no opinion on any of the other cats. Except Jayfeather, whos pretty awesome, but only shows up like 3 times in the book, but its fine since him and his siblings had a whole arc

Welp, thats that,

Flipflight

Audiobook Darkness Within (Warriors: The Broken Code #4) by Erin Hunter

I loved this book so much!! Normaly there would be battles and war between the Clans, but now it seems like there’s peace. Each Clan has a say. I also love tbc because it seems to me, that it shows more of how the Clans connection to Star Clan is so important. Of corse that means that they can’t seek help from the Star Clan, but it makes tbc stand out from the other books. My favorite part about this book though is when the go to find The Sisters. Also i love and hate a good clif hanger at the end! it really bulids the intensity until the last minute!! The only thing im sad about is the next book is coming out in April… 🙁 i think that Erin Hunter is a reeaaalllyyy good author tho. 😀 (i mean how does she get all these ideas for not just warriors but bravelands and seekers too!!) I rate this book a 5 star and 100%! TYSM FOR WRITING SUCH GREAT BOOKS!!! D

Review #4

Audio Darkness Within (Warriors: The Broken Code #4) narrated by MacLeod Andrews

While the fourth installment in The Broken Code did have some really interesting and gripping moments in it, a fair amount of the book settled on a lot of padding. Characters spoke in circles a lot, basically. The romance sub plot is also extremely weak despite the fact that it takes up a bit of the books word count. All in all, its basically what youd expect from your average Warriors book, and this is coming from a huge fan of the series.

SPOILERS

It was pretty obvious that Ashfur was the impostor. The plot in this book is pretty good, but the romance is a bit cringe. Shadowsight is an interesting character that gets played by Ashfur twice. Rootspring is still the same along with Bristefrost, who isn’t my favorite character because of her personality in the first couple books. All of the characters didn’t change much except Mothwing. Why is she so negative now? She used to be positive and passionate, but I guess it could be because of her getting older. This was, in my opinion the best book in this series because the plot was pretty intense at times. As always, this book ends in a cliffhanger which is ok I guess. Squirreflight will probably be in the Dark Forest next, because that’s the name of the next book
