Jennifer Probst has done it again! She continues to deliver incredibly written love stories. I absolutely loved The Marriage Trap by Jennifer Probst, it is an incredible love story, and is the second book in her Marriage to a Billionaire series. I loved the book that I am looking forward to reading the other books in the Marriage to a Billionaire series. I have read other books by Jennifer Probst and always enjoy her wonderfully written stories. Jennifer Probst has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put The Marriage Trap down. I loved every moment on every page. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. The Marriage Trap is wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. The Marriage Trap is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Jennifer Probst love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. One of my favorite parts is how Jennifer Probst incorporates the title of the book into the love story. Who doesnt love a fake marriage that turns into true love? The Marriage Trap is the story of Maggie Ryan, photographer and sister of Nick Ryan and billionaire Michael Conte, who runs his familys business, La Dolce Famiglia. Maggies sister-in-law Alexa sets Maggie up on a blind date with Michael. They both enjoy their time together, but Maggie believes that Michael is in love with Alexa. Maggie decides to follow Alexas example, and casts a love spell to Earth Mother, looking for a husband. Michaels sister, Venezia calls him in a panic and is infuriated that their mother will not allow her to marry her fianc, Dominick until Michael is married. Michael needs to find a fake bride quickly, so that Venezia and Dominick do not elope and cause even more distress to the family. Michael approaches Maggie to be his fake wife. Maggie agrees, but Michael must agree to stay away from Alexa and Nick. Nick and Maggie did not have the best childhood or the best parents, which is the opposite of Michaels childhood. Maggie wants to protect what Nick and Alexa have. As Maggie and Michael spend time together in Italy being fake married, they share secrets with one another and they grow closer. Michael confesses how his dreams for himself changed with the death of his father, and he took over the role of the man of the house. Maggie and Michaels relationship changes, and how Mama Conte sets them up for a real wedding. I love that both Michael and Maggie show their vulnerable sides and that each of them changed because of their feelings for one another. Then and unexpected plot twist changes everything for them and forces Michael to follow his heart and his dreams. I love his grand gesture to win Maggie back. I loved that The Marriage Trap is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Maggie and Michael are facing that need to be resolved. I love how all the storylines get resolved so incredibly. I loved the epilogue and how it was more than the happily ever after, and how the qualities that Maggie was looking for in a husband are finally revealed. The Marriage Trap is filled with the poignant and bittersweet moments, as well as the plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in Jennifer Probst\’s stories. I love that while in Italy, Maggie gave the love spells book to Michaels youngest sister, Carina. I am so glad that Maggie got the happily ever after that she so deserved, and trusted Michaels feelings for her. I love all the changes that both Maggie and Michael were willing to make in their lives and their amazing chemistry. I love the cast of characters in The Marriage Trap and I am looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series. Who doesnt love family and friends that always have each others backs? I loved catching up with Alexa and Nick, it felt like a get together with good friends. I thoroughly enjoyed The Marriage Trap; I highly recommend this wonderful romance.

A very young adult might enjoy this. It is a classic over the top domineering alpha male meeting his match in an \’unsuitable\’ woman. It could be a Mills and Boon from the \’80\’s which I was reading when I was 14 but with the addition, for a modern audience of a more spirited female lead, rather than a blushing virgin. Unfortunately the female lead Maggie, whilst she stands up to the male lead, is too unlikeable. She is catty and coarse in her diaogue and actions rather than smart and witty. There is a lot to dislike in this story. Here is just a short list: Note there are spoilers. 1. The whole premise is ridiculous. Maggie is so worried that her brother\’s wife is attracted to Michael that she makes the fake marriage deal to keep him away from her sister in law. How about instead she shows some faith in her brother and sister in law? 2. The 23 year old sister who is so protected she must have her brother\’s permission to go on a date. Has the author visited modern day Italy or met modern Italians? Really this is just insulting to Italians. 3. Michael\’s mother is not a charming crafty loveable momma which I assume is what the author was aiming for but a manipulative controlling horror. 4. The use of rape as the reason for Maggie\’s problems with emotional intimacy is a cheap, disrespectful trick. Also disrespectful is the implication that sex with a good man will enable her to overcome the horror of rape. 5. The use of minor bits of Italian through the dialogue only serves to give the impression the author knows no Italian rather than providing authenticity. 6. So many cliches – the feral cat who melts when it meets Maggie who doesn\’t like cats. The 4 children who are a handful but Maggie with no experience of children has them charmed and compliant. Maggie the career girl who can\’t cook (I don\’t get why so many authors of romance can\’t get their heads around a woman being both a successful professional and a perfectly competent home maker). 7. Naming the bakery La Dolce Maggie. 8. For what is a very pedestrian Mills and Boon type story the asking price for this is way too high.

Audiobook The Marriage Trap (Marriage to a Billionaire #2) by Jennifer Probst

Maggie – I liked this character in the first book because of her pepper personality and it sort of carried on this book as well. I find it fascinated like by how she manipulated Michael at times, even having him change her niece diapers, Lily, whom she adored, but with conditions, obviously! She was something, and I loved that about her. Michael – I disliked Michael control/macho issues regarding his sisters\’ lives. Somewhat a bit ridiculous, especially when he was not even living in the same country, how arrogant to think you can control adult females from the distance. Regardless, I could not help liking him because he came across as honest, and I already liked him from the first book. I like the chemistry between them, and fell in love with Michael all over again when he tells Maggie he loves her and never loved Alexa, that was beautiful and Maggie needed to hear that. Mama Conte – A true manipulator in a good way, so novelistic of her to fake her illness and use it to her advantage. Overall, I enjoyed the book, but the price was a bit high as I would have thought there will be much more to it, than the first book and there was not. I could have given it two starts , but feeling generous.

Audio The Marriage Trap (Marriage to a Billionaire #2) narrated by Madeleine Maby

A miss for me. I particularly disliked Maggie, just one dimensional. The promise of Michael from the previous book didn\’t materialise. The main problem is no humour. I normally have literally laughed out loud with Jennifer\’s other books and it was sorely lacking in this story.
