This is a sweet, snappy, flirty, and dirty rom-com with a lot of heart and even a kid and a couple of persnickety cats. Logan Clarke is a divorced single dad who has not really had any relationships in the past couple of years. He is busy with his financial work, his daughter, and his friend…and has trust issues. Bryn Hawthorne is VP for a lifestyle website. She is smart, direct, and thrives on being a lady boss. She loves her work and team, and writing lifestyle pieces. Sometimes life imitates art and they test their articles in the real world. They have an unexpected meet-cute moment but ended up going away unsatisfied. But what if? With a little help they find a way to connect again. They shared one amazing night that was more than they could imagine, but then the next day real-life kicked them in the a**. But can they do the right thing and avoid the pull or do they take a risk and deal with the consequences? I loved them together. Logan has been jaded and cautious, but she makes him want to be more spontaneous and brings out the dirty, alpha side of him. Bryn is able to be herself and be honest about what she wants and needs. They just get each other and are compatible in ALL ways. They have such fun and flirty banter, and their chemistry is hot hot hot! They are the perfect balance for each other during sexy times. But there is just one big problem that seems to overshadow everything. I loved getting more with all of their friends and some fun cameos. I loved that they have cats with their own personal motivations and that he is an amazing single dad. I enjoyed the fact that they acted like mature adults, and believed in honesty and communication. There is not a bunch of unnecessary relationship angst. I liked that even though it was steamy, there was relationship development in other ways as well. It is just an enjoyable witty, sexy read with lovable characters. I am so excited for more with the hockey player, Fitz, and hopefully his teammate Ransom too.

The What If Guy is a fun new rom-com from Lauren Blakely. This one had me smiling all the way through from the initial meeting of the hero and heroine to the cats that both of them own! There was so much to love about this book. Logan Clarke is divorced and is the dad of a little girl. He is a CEO and hasn\’t concentrated at all on his dating life since his divorce preferring to focus on his work, his daughter and his friends. Bryn Hawthorne is the Vice President of a lifestyle website and while she\’s smart and direct, she also embraces the fact that she\’s a lady boss. That is something very important to her. She values her team and they often all have to use their real life experiences in their work. She too is divorced and was cheated on, so the idea of getting into another relationship isn\’t high on her list. When Logan and Bryn encounter one another while both looking at a Snoopy lunchbox, their initial meeting gets interrupted by a phone call and neither one of them leave the interaction with the information they had hoped for – a phone number. What they both know is that the sparks were flying between them! Bryn decides to take a leap and she posts on a website in hopes of finding Logan. She\’s successful and they have a first date that had enough heat to cause an inferno! When something unexpected happens before their next scheduled date, will they go through with the date or decide that maybe this wasn\’t meant to be after all? Logan and Bryn bring out the best in each other. They both value honesty and when they open up to one another they allow the other to be their true, authentic self. I loved how great of a Dad Logan was and the cats that they each have are so enjoyable as well. They both have quite the personalities! Overall this was a steamy, witty read that I\’d highly recommend!

Audiobook The What If Guy (The Guys Who Got Away #2) by Lauren Blakely
Bryn Hawthorne was skeptical about the stuff legendary romances are made of until she had hew own meet cute with a sexy-as-sin guy while shopping for a lunchbox. Theres banter, negotiation and an out of this world date will follow. Logan Clarke is a single dad with serious trust issues after his divorce and finding Bryn is something unexpected, especially after their spectacular date. When Bryn and Logan realize hes her new boss, their budding relationship will have to stay at a one-night only despite their underlying desires and this is when our story gets good. The What If Guy is swoony, fun and sexy like everything Ms. Blakely delivers, but to top it all, I found it adorable. Yes, adorable. I simply loved Amelias sass, the love Logan has for her and her influence on his life. Then, there are the cats they gave the story an even better POV and I couldnt wait for them to come together as well. As I usually say, whether you are a longtime fan or just happened to find Ms. Blakely, if you want a book that will leave you with a good feeling long after you finish, run towards The What If Guy. 4 purr-fect stars

Audio The What If Guy (The Guys Who Got Away #2) narrated by Andi Arndt Emma Wilder Joe Arden Santino Fontana
I have read some great books by Lauren Blakey, but she is so inconsistent! I won\’t buy any more of her books. This book did not have the sexy, clever banter I loved in her other books, and I really hated the chapters written by the couple\’s pet cats. The cats\’ perspectives added nothing to the story. I have buyer\’s remorse…
