Dark Lycan

Absolutely loved Dark Lycan. Fen is a fun character who is definitely a hero and is always willing to stand in front of someone. Tatijana is Dragonseeker who was held captive for years but she wants her freedom but she will discover so much more. Dark Lycan will start introduction us to the Lycan society. This story is filled with angst, love, lust, humor and terrific fight scenes. Highly recommend this magical journey Feehan takes on in Dark Lycan. Happy Reading!!

This was Tatijana, of the dragon seekers, and Fenris (Dimitris brother) story. Fenris had exchange blood with Lycans and that had made him a hybrid who were known as Sange Rau. The Sange Rau feared because they were powerful so they were hunted and Fenris had to hide his new nature so he could survive. When he met Tatijana both were attracted to the other but didnt want to acknowledge their feelings, she conflicted by her experience as a captive and he because of his tainted blood. A lot of descriptions and narrations about their situation where we knew more about both characters. . There was action with the Lycans tracking the Sange rau, suspense, romance, sex, there were some scenes with Skyler and Dimitri and we get to know what happened before with the brothers and some other characters of the previous stories that added to the drama. Interesting this turn from Carpathian male to hybrid. Intrigued me and immediately I was thinking about Dimitri. I had been reading this Dark series for a while and it had kept me interested all the time. Already had Dark Wolf because I cannot miss any of this stories that I like so much.

So begins the story of Tatijana and Fenris Dalka, her unexpected and unwanted lifemate. Ancient Carpathian warrior. Check. Rogue werewolves. Check. Dragonseeker lineage. Check. Intense battle and action. Check. Unforgettable love story. Check. Witty dialogue. Check. Appearances by much-loved former characters. Check.

THIS is perhaps Feehan’s greatest offering in a LONG while, since Dark Slayer. I just loved the chemistry between Fen and Tatijana, Fen and Zev, Fen and Dimitri, Gregori and Mikhail, and also a very touching scene between Gregori and Gary Jansen (Kleenex alert). Fenris Dalka is one of the BEST heroes of the series who has become what the Lycans refer to as Sange ray (Bad Blood) or hybrid Carpathian/Lycan. Should it be discovered the Lycan Elite Squad, led by Zev Hunter, will exterminate him by Moarta de Argint (Death by Silver). Fen fears he has also unknowingly endangered his brother, Dimitri (lifemate to Skyler), making Dimitri as he is by exchanging blood after being wounded in battle. This is also the first book that we come to know the daughters of Rhiannon, Tatijana and Branislava. Tatijana has an awesome sense of humor and her quips about her “wolf boy” or even calling Fen and Zev “wolf men” is endearing. The interaction between Zev and Bronnie is hilarious, yet the weft and weave of the plot deepens with Zev, the Lycans, and the continued assassination attempts on Mikhail Dubrinsky, Prince if the Carpathian people.

This is the foundational story that sets up the trilogy stories of Dimitri and Skyler (Dark Wolf) and Zev Hunter and Branislava (Dark Blood). However, although the mastermind behind the plot remains hidden and we know that three of the Malinov brothers have since seen the justice of the Prince (Kirja Malinov in Dark Secret, Maxim Malinov in Dark Demon, and Ruslan Malinov in Dark Predator) which leaves Sergey Malinov who, although wounded in a Dark Slayer by his sister Ivory and Razvan in Dark Slayer, escaped and still lives, and Vadim, whom we haven’t chanced to meet as yet in ANY if the previous books. So, I’m betting on Vadim Malinov to be the one behind the master plan set in motion centuries ago with the Dark Blood/Sange rau army to kill the Prince and end the Carpathian species.

So very glad this book had waaaay more dialogue between the characters and a well-developed plot than recent offerings. It was one I couldn’t put down.

Fen had long hunted vampires. Now he hunts a rogue werewolf pack. Only to learn two werewolf/Carpathian vampires are with them. He hides a dangerous secret.
Tatiana, Carpathian, one of the few Dragonseeker line. After being Xavier’s prison from birth, she refuses to be any Carpathian’s lifemate. She will not give up her freedom.
Their meeting leads to many discoveries about the Lycans, the Carpathians, and possibly, themselves.

Loved the book overall. Great characters and character development. Great story line. My only problem was the…. mini plots or stories inside the main story. Mainly, what the heck happened with Skyler and Dimitri? Last I hear (I thought) was the Prince Strongly suggesting to Dimitri he woo/court the young lady and give here the time to grow up. That would also give Skylers father some time to … “warm up” to the idea. 🙂 What happened to the reluctant child Skyler was…the scared little girl just coming into her powers…. I also thought the main female character here, Tatijana (? spel) changed her tune too quickly. She came out of ground determined to be her own person, not wanting to be tied down as it were, yet on the first night… she’s already changing her mind. I like it better when the … couple have to over come some things…when they sort of fumble around themselves. We know and they know they’re lifemates, but they sort of fight it. I also missed the “surprised” experience of the men when they suddenly start seeing colors and those first experiences. I liked all the kids too. But I would’ve liked to have more dealing with one or two of their pregnancies. Wouldn’t that’ve been a great book? Any one or two of the girls with their over protective mates…. I think that would’ve made a great story/book. Throw in something threatening the community, or even learning about the flower… Now with all the kids, there’s plenty of room for more stories. I can’t wait to see if Sara/Falcon’s kids with their psy ability discover they have life mates too. And Gary, he needs to come into his … “cat” blood so he can be with (I can’t remember her name) but so he can be with her with mom’s blessing…. The story itself is worth a read or two, but I have lots of little questions….
