This short, wonderfully written book is just as magical as the season its about. Maybe even more! All Wrapped Up is a cute and funny look into the life of Harriet Manners. Shes a quirky character, who doesnt know when to stop taking (which I love), and she just had her first kiss with a hunky male model, named Nick, only four days prior to their first date. The story Holly Smale paints is adorable and great for the holiday season that approaches. It is filled with cool little facts about Christmas as well as geekery extras.

This is the perfect book for all those who are geeky and nerdy! (Perfect gift too. *Wink* *Wink*)

So its 5 out 5 stars on top of the Christmas tree for this hilarious addition to the world of Harriet Manners in All Wrapped Up by Holly Smale.

Review: I was so excited when I found out that there was going to be a Geek Girl Christmas special. Many of the pupils that I teach were also insanely excited when they found out there was going to be a Geek Girl Christmas special and it being Christmas as well there was so much excitement surrounding this book! I was bought the beautiful hardback edition and I read it with my pupils over 4 lunchtimes at school, taking it turns to read aloud and laughing and awwing together!

You can tell just from the start of this review that of course we loved it! We knew that Harriet was going to be excited at Christmas, Harriet is excited enough the rest of the year, but you know she’s going to go all out at Christmas! This novella also made us excited because it was like an interim Geek Girl to tide us over until the next full-light novel came out, again I don’t know where Holly Smale gets her writing energy from but I love her for the amount of Geek Girl that she brings us-when’s the next one out?

It’s lovely seeing Harriet evolve over these books and it’s great seeing those milestones that she gets to, the first kiss is a pretty big milestone! I love all the other characters in her life as well and so as much as this book was about her it was also about her Freinds and her family and of course, Wilbur, everyone’s fabourite fashionista (I hope Wilbur really does exist in real life) and there was the perfect dose of all of these characters in this short but sweet tale. For a book that is only 220 pages, that we read so quickly, there is certainly development of storyline and everything you want to happen happens.

This is such a great read and definitely something I will be returning to this Christmas because it is something you can curl up on the sofa or in a of coffee shop with and just gulp down in one delicious sitting-love Geek Girl so hard!

Audiobook All Wrapped Up (Geek Girl #1.5) by Holly Smale

I read Geek Girl by Holly Smale ages ago. It was so long ago that I cant actually remember when it was. At the time I loved it. So it is a massive puzzle to me as to why I havent read the rest. I own them but I just havent read any of them. It is rather curious.

The Geek Girl Special (1) All Wrapped Up sees Harriet go on her first real date. As we have come to expect from Harriet, she is awkward and gawky but she manages to actually come across as the more in control person when she is taken ice skating. Something she is surprisingly good at. But will she get a Christmas kiss?

Geek Girl Special (1) All Wrapped Up has made me want to hurry up and read the rest of the series and that is what I intend to do.

Geek Girl Special (1) All Wrapped Up by Holly Smale is available now.

Audio All Wrapped Up (Geek Girl #1.5) narrated by Katy Sobey

When I found out about a Geek Girl special I new I had to read it. The Geek Girl series consistently blows me away, makes me laugh so hard I cry, and is a series I could devour time and time again.

All Wrapped Up is another great addition to this series, and I enjoyed getting to take a glimpse back in time and catch up with Harriett and Nick. I thoroughly enjoy this series, and although I was disappointed at how short the book was, I did like that we get to read Team Geek for those who have yet to read it.

All Wrapped Up is chock full of Christmas spirit, and it literally pours out of Harriet, months in advance. We also get the added bonus of romance, and an extra special first date that sees this couple have thier roles reversed.
Now its the middle of December and I’m finally allowed to start marking the occasion, I’m so excited I feel like a shaken can: except instead of soda, Christmas is fizzing straight out.
[Page 9]
All Wrapped Up was everything I expected from Harriett and Holly, and it just makes me want the next book in the series in my hands right now. I didn’t realise how much I missed these books until I picked up All Wrapped Up. Looking back I know my review is short and vague, but I am trying so hard not to spoil this one.

All Wrapped Up is a must by for fans of Harriett, or for those new to the series. You can read this one right after Geek Girl and not have to worry about spoilers for the rest of the series.

This was a really quick and Christmassy read, full of the joys of Christmas time from bad dad jokes to decorations and ice-skating. I enjoyed the festivity of it but did find it strange to be reading when it’s summer here. There isn’t the same emphasis on decorating here, or at least not where I’ve been and it did make me pine a little for my own Christmas decorations and my real tree.

I have never read the Geek Girl books so I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t love this book, it was a fun read but the style of writing was sometimes a little grating and the story just didn’t hook me. I wouldn’t rush out to read the series, but I am glad I read it. I enjoyed it as a light-hearted Christmas story.
